In a season 4 episode in a plane with Ziva, Tony and a suspect he says he's a virgo - and Tony and Ziva name another couple of zodia signs, which is part of the 'game' they're playing with the suspect to get him to tell them about something called Arys, which is very important for the US, i.e. highly dangerous if it were to fall into enemy hands.

MY point was suerely if a wife is buyibg a presnt for her husband with Happy Birthday on its gonna be for his birthday not marine corp birthday. Do you find this valuable? |

Agreed! But what I mean is that his birthday happens to coincide with that of the Marine Corps, probably because of the fact that his being an ex-marine is an important part of his behaviour likewise that NCIS is also marine related; whereas if you look on the page for Mark Harmon, you'll see that according to the birthday given there he is in fact a virgo. I think the scriptwriters in the 2 different episodes were just playing with these two facts, i.e. they give us the Gibbs birthday as 10th Nov, which just so happens to coincide with the marine corp day, and in the other just playing around with a suspect - anyhow it's fiction so what the hell!! And let's face it a lot of couples have 'in' jokes or 'in' anniversaries, i.e. their own secret/intimate stories.

I bow to your ability to read the hip flask engraving. Well spotted. The star sign thing is thus a red herring.

"MY point was suerely if a wife is buyibg a presnt for her husband with Happy Birthday on its gonna be for his birthday not marine corp birthday."My dad was a marine, and to him the corps birthday was just as important as his own. If the corps is as important to Gibbs as it was to my dad, then it is quite likely that the engraving on the flask is the corps birthday and not his own. It could be a Shannon and Kelly's way of saying, "We're proud you're a marine, happy birthday" because when you are in the corps you are the corps -- its birthday is your birthday, and so on. Just my two cents. I don't think it should be included as fact in the article, but rather as a possibility (especially since there seem to be a LOT of inconsistencies.) 1 out of 2 found this valuable. Do you? |

Personally I think it's a coincidence (may Gibbs forgive me for saying such a thing!), that his and the marine corps share the same birthday - mainly because I don't think when people join the armed forces today they don't think that way, I mean it's a professional job, and as such you're expected to perform 100% at all times, unless of course you have no family in which case the corps or any other organisation for that matter of which you feel a part of becomes your surrogate family so to speak.I grew up in the town next door to the home of the British army on one side Sandhurst Royal Military Academy on the other, the RAF to the north and the Royal and Merchant Navies to the south, so the place was swarming with military and armed forces personnel of all kinds and ranks - and I certainly don't recall them feeling they were the corps, or whatever, SAS and parachute regiments apart - they're the jewels of the crown. Besides which all TV serials not to mention films tend to glorify the armed forces of any country, when we all know there's more suffering than glory. To quote Tennyson: 'theirs was not to reason why theirs was but to do and die' - How sad! Do you find this valuable? |

Never smoked anything in my life!!! But it's always the impression I've had - I mean they're nearly always first into battle, or at least they were, perhaps I'm a bit out of touch so many years spent abroad - remember news received abroad is never the same as the news received in your country, know what I mean?

"In a season 4 episode in a plane with Ziva, Tony and a suspect he says he's a virgo - and Tony and Ziva name another couple of zodia signs, "The Zodiac signs mentioned are the actual signs of MH, MW and CdP. Just another of the 'fun things' the writers slip in from time to time to amuse the fans. 0 out of 1 found this valuable. Do you? |
