Good episode, maybe a bit slow, but good since they were building the season finale.I love competent and SFA Tony back and how he stopped the bad guy on the ship. Very DiNozzo.I love all MW&MH's scenes :) Happy to see Stan again and McGee out of the office. Italian note: we stopped using those yellow cabs more than 15 years ago. Our cabs are white now and they just needed to ask Michael. I'm use he took more than one cab when he was in Italy in 2009 :) Plus that type of car is so old that is considered almost antique ;) 1 out of 1 found this valuable. Do you? |

Loved to see Gibbs back in his super-hyper mode -- haven't seen this side of him since Ari (not even with Saleem). Good to see.

I loved it when Tony admitted to Ziva that he was sea sick, how McGee of him. I also like it when Abby did not find the information that Gibbs wanted it on the DNA and McGee found other information on the computer and Gibbs gave the breakfast to McGee. Abby reaction was cute.

"Never like it when they have tony goofing off too much (it is no credit to the man that we know he can be) but it was nicely balanced when he warned his colleague (name?) to 'class' up his behaviour around Ziva."Yes, Stan Burley was definitely having a Lando Calrissian moment. 2 out of 2 found this valuable. "I loved it when Tony admitted to Ziva that he was sea sick, how McGee of him."Given that he spent several months on ships it does seem a little odd that he was the one that was sea sick. Do you find this valuable? |

There were tornadoes in Iowa last night, so they kept interrupting the show with weather updates. Boo :(. So now I need to watch the show online. I liked what I did see, though!

"Today we have another new NCIS episode called Playing with Fire, where Tony and Ziva go undercover in Italy.I just watched it and think it was one of the best this year - It took me over 90 mnites to watch even fast forwarding though the commercials since I rewinded allot to catch every word. Love how Gibbs yelled "You have no rights" - Allot of Americans have problems with the Patriat Act but not Gibbs!! Good to see him excited. I watched that scene at least five times. I do not understand why both Ziva and Tony went after the bad guy on the ship - seems one should have stayed and gave first aid to their fallen - Maybe I saw it wrong I hope nothing is up with Ducky - After all we all should update death papers from time to time esp after life changing events - I have three times over my life. Looking forward to next week. Do you find this valuable? |

The episode was slow for me - but as everyone has pointed out - it's just the start of the rest of the episodes left - so, yeah, not as exciting as hopefully the others will be. What I liked? I liked Tony teasing McGee about being seasick and then turning around and saying - Poor guy, and Feel Better McGee.' That's teasing with a side of caring and that works for me. I also loved the interaction and talks between Stan and Tony. Hoping that Stan sticks around since he has 2 weeks r&r - he could be useful in the office or helping Abby and since he's there... I liked that they mentioned the scholarship funds for children of Marines and the work they do - nice way of putting it in there - felt sorry for Ducky. Seems he is having regrets - now that he has all that money and his mom is gone - about not settling down and having kids of his own. I liked the fact that McGee got out of the office, finally. Loved that Ziva - and even McGee and Abby thought they had pulled one over on Tony - only to have Tony turn the tables on them. I am sure that it was Gibbs who told him - I remember when Tony was wondering about what Kate and Abby were ding that weekend, Gibbs told even though Abby did not want him to because as he said, 'He'll be trying to figure it out and I do not need him distracted.' Well, sending Tony off off on a dangerous mission wondering what's going on with Ziva (as he did with Kate) - not a good idea and Gibbs would know that. Plus, Tony knew right after being in MTAC with Gibbs. Things I didn't like - getting tired of every bad guy being 'obsessed' with Gibbs. Maybe they should start a 'fan' club of sorts. I love Gibbs but come on - this has been done to death. Tired of seeing Ziva flirt with everyone in sight in order to try to make Tony jealous - didn't work last night, and unless SB is around, it doesn't work. 0 out of 1 found this valuable. Do you? |

"I am not understanding these comments as regards our new villian being obsessed with Gibbs. Was it because of the preview because i didnt see it as part of the episode? Previews can be a bit misleading. In the continued absence of Vance, it maybe only be natural that our newest terrorist focuses on his strongest opposition, which would be Gibbs. It doesnt look like if they have actually met before. But this begs the question where is SecNav. i missed jason also, kimmie49 i kept looking out for him in the episode. 1 out of 1 found this valuable. Do you? |

Was it because of the preview because i didnt see it as part of the episode?I know Jimmie is only in 23 episodes I think someone said. But what about Vance? We never saw alot of SecNav but when Jenny was in the show we saw her all the time. I got the feeling that Ducky was hurt when Gibbs cut him off that he was thinking of giving him money too--maybe something in Shannon and Kellys name. Maybe this is setting him up for retirement--not so many episodes?? Do you find this valuable? |

Insiders Blog for "Playing With Fire" http://www.cbs.com/shows/ncis/insiders_blog/109842/ "Playing With Fire" is the second installment of a four-episode arc that ends Season Nine...we had to continue the investigation of the thermite fires as they escalated and end our episode with the identification of the man behind the murders and arson -- Harper Dearing, his photo slapped up on the NCIS Most Wanted Wall. Over the years we've discussed bringing back Joel Gresch as NCIS Special Agent Burley. He appeared in Episode 6, "High Seas." It may be the longest time interval in TV history for a character to reoccur. That said, there were sparks between Agents Burley and David. Could that lead to something? We shall see. Always trying to play the humor between Tony and McGee...we had to find a way to do it with the two separated, McGee aboard a ship at sea and Tony back at NCIS. We thought Dennis Smith brought his usual deft comic touch to the McGee-sea-sickness scene played over the MTAC screen...Tony blanching at the sight of McGee's giant head. In that same vein, with the team separated, Dennis also skillfully handled Gibbs' remote-interrogation of Andre Fullerton, the saboteur, aboard the ship. For several years we've been aware that David McCallum's favorite charity is the Marine Corps. Scholarship Foundation. We finally got a chance to introduce it into a story and explain how it helps the children of Marine veterans. You could feel David's sincerity as Ducky tells Gibbs he was inspired by the photo of the fallen Marine to leave the bulk of his estate to such a worthwhile charity. Finally we want to thank our NCIS family, the incredible cast and crew, for such a wonderful, and we look forward to Number Ten! George Schenck Frank Cardea 5 out of 5 found this valuable. Do you? |

"The problem is that the script was written by two authors that are with the show since S1 *sigh* Tony could have felt sick because he ate bad food, but not because he was seasick. A small change that would have made those lines believable and even funny. 1 out of 1 found this valuable. Do you? |

"The problem is that the script was written by two authors that are with the show since S1 *sigh*If they wanted a funny moment then having the over confident Ziva be overcome would have worked much better in my opinion. They had that angle running with her getting lost so it would have built from the same premis. Do you find this valuable? |

...I thought the episode was a great intro to the finale...love it when McGee and Toni have their moments the looks they give each other makes you feel like they are best friends/brothers teasing each other..the sick Toni was hilarious since we have never seen that part of Toni...Gibbs being completely nuts over this bad guy...loved it when he gets like this...it definitely makes you feel for him and his quest....you guys rocked this week can't wait to see what happens next..Do you find this valuable? |

While it was nice to see McGee in the field, it seemed a bit idiotic to me to send the NCIS agent known for a seasickness problem to a ship!

"The problem is that the script was written by two authors that are with the show since S1 *sigh*I do recall when someone mentioned a few seasons back that Tony does get sick on occassion. Yes, it can happen I have been on various types of ships/boats and depending on the weather and the sea conditions I can get sea sick but not all the time. 2 out of 2 found this valuable. Do you? |
