Neat question.Thinking back through the episodes, two come to my mind that may illustrate Ziva's darkest fears. In Shalom (4.01), Ziva's phone call to Gibbs (asking him to come back and help her prove she wasn't a terrorist) was interesting. She was calm and stable up until Gibbs asked her what she thought he could do from 3000 miles away. "Save me?" she asks, with a desperate quiver in her voice. I think her terror in this call was a fear of rejection by Gibbs, rather than a fear of being hunted by the FBI, CIA, NCIS and Mossad. In Recoil (5.16), Ziva is very shaken by her near-death experience (the killer's shot grazes her temple). She was afraid that her instincts had been wrong, and that a mistake in judgement will lead to her death. So: I think the greatest fears we've seen so far are a fear of rejection by a father-figure, and a fear of mistaken judgement at a critical time. Anyone else have ideas? 1 out of 1 found this valuable. Do you? |

In 7.04 Good Cop Bad Cop she said to Ducky that she begins to fear for those close to her because everyone that she grows close to her ends up dead.

"In 7.04 Good Cop Bad Cop she said to Ducky that she begins to fear for those close to her because everyone that she grows close to her ends up dead."Thats a bit of an odd attitude given that she herself killed Ari and was, at least in part, responsible for Rivkin's death and Tony's brush with it. 1 out of 1 found this valuable. "Thats a bit of an odd attitude given that she herself killed Ari and was, at least in part, responsible for Rivkin's death and Tony's brush with it."...she loved Ari and had to kill him...she loved Rivkin and he was close to her, even though he died byTony ...She is close to Tony in her own way and he nearly died too...so I don't see anything odd about that statement. 2 out of 2 found this valuable. I remember after Tony Killed Rivkin, while in Mossad Headquaters, Ziva Confronted Tony and beat him to the ground, and she had a knife in her hand, she could have killed Tony, although Gibbs was looking at the whole incident from behind close doors. To me, Ziva had to killed Ari to gain the trust of Gibbs. 1 out of 2 found this valuable. "Neat question.Callerbear...not to beat a dead horse, however, in Reunion, 7.02, Ziva clearly articulates her considering of Gibbs as a father-figure and the possible fear of that loss. She is voices her hurt (is it all completely honest though or a get back in good graces exercise?). In my mind, one of the few moments where the Gray Kryptonite is pushed back on his heels for just a second or two. 1 out of 1 found this valuable. Do you? |

"...she loved Ari and had to kill him...she loved Rivkin and he was close to her, even though he died byTony ...She is close to Tony in her own way and he nearly died too...so I don't see anything odd about that statement. "But, given that she herself and her choices are active contributors to these deaths the idea that people just 'die around her' doesn't really make sense since that is suggestive of her being a pawn of fate which she is not. And I'm not so sure about the 'had' to kill Ari She was in no personal danger, was close up and is supposed to be a crack shot. She really didn't need to kill him. She chose to in order to win Gibbs trust and fulfil her Mossad orders. 1 out of 1 found this valuable. Do you? |

"I think that Ziva hides her feelings under the tough quize just like Tony hides his under comedy."Its a nice idea but the show has repeatedly shown us Ziva's feelings on full display. She has repeatedly been shown to act on her feelings and to be ruled by them. Do you find this valuable? |

"Its a nice idea but the show has repeatedly shown us Ziva's feelings on full display. She has repeatedly been shown to act on her feelings and to be ruled by them."Its part of her nature and training from Mossaud to be like that. She's not a femine female, she is more of a manly female. She likes to get in first before someone gets her. I think this a fear of hers also. 1 out of 1 found this valuable. Do you? |

"Its part of her nature and training from Mossaud to be like that. She's not a femine female, she is more of a manly female. She likes to get in first before someone gets her. I think this a fear of hers also."She has been shown to use her sexuality both by report and in the show. This problem she has of not being able to control her emotions is also vewed as a 'feminine' traint so I'm not really getting the 'manly' bit. She's not even held to the same standards as the men and expects to have a bags carried. She certainly likes to get in first but I can't think of an occasion where it was a pre-emtive strike. Each time she's lashed out its been because she was in a temper that I recall. 1 out of 1 found this valuable. Do you? |
