March 20th N C I S music

I am usually interested in songs played on this wonderful, creative series. But today I saw the name of a man who is credited with writing NCIS music in general. The name was Jay Ferguson, which sounds like a somewhat average name. But Jay and I crossed paths, as musician and fan, decades ago. If this is the same person, he was one of the major forces in the group Spirit. Does anyone know if tonight's Jay Ferguson is the same man who had a solo career after Spirit dissolved, then disappeared...till tonight? 0  out of 1 found this valuable. Do you?

http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0272471/

Here is a link to his IMDb listing, perhaps you can work it out from there. You could always write to him c/- of NCIS and see if you get a reply. This Jay Furgeson is listed for NCIS: Los Angeles, but not NCIS. Perhaps as it has only just aired if it is him it will be listed in the coming weeks.

I saw that too! I very rarely watch NCIS LA but it was the crossover...

Saw Jay's name and thought WOW, is that the same guy who did "Thunder Island"...looked it up and it IS him; apparently he also composed the theme for "The Office" (US) and has done a lot of other TV and movie work :).
Nice to see someone else reads the credits!! (when you can see them)

Hey Thunderverna, yes, it's nice to know other people than my wife and me read credits. Yes, it's Jay Ferguson of "Thunder Island" fame. But I think Spirit (Jay's band before his solo career) had more hits, including "Got a Line on You" and "Fresh Garbage." 2  out of 2 found this valuable. Do you?

Went to youtube to see if I recognized any Spirit songs; no bells rang! Just a bit before my time (or they didn't make it to Ottawa radio!!)

Did you ever hear of Rachel Sweet?

It could be your tv or the tv station that you watch it from. Sometimes the stations do that....
