20. RE: "The Tell" Gibbs with Jamie Lee Curtis? Yuck!

"If the writers are trying to pair up Gibbs....I think we need a new face ..maybe someone spunky, smart ass in a soft kinda way....none red head and no gray hair.... petite .....someone that can keep up with all the characters different personalities....just a thought"Why can';t they have grey hair?...Why do they have to be spunky?...Gibbs isn't spunky, he's old school...he doesn't like smart asses, and I don't see why she has to be petite...not everyone is a barbie doll look a like. Gibbs role is in his late 40's, early 50's, not a 30 something. Sam is closer to his age, has the same colour hair, she's not over weight either, I fail to see what difference that makes. 3 out of 3 found this valuable. Do you? |

As far as I am aware, and of reading other posts by other members, whether on this thread or on an other, its o.k. to bring those thoughts up. Your post to me, did sound like you were knocking older people. Your idea of opposits wasn't clear. I hope Jamie lee has only a recurring role, not a permanent one. 0 out of 1 found this valuable. Hey, I'm older and was not offended by the gray hair thing (thankfully for Loreal) I'm a hopelessly romantic and for me I would like to see Gibbs have a relationship and the woman (perhaps Mann or even Kate's sister) they fall in love and she has his child, a boy like the cute little guy in the epi when his dad was kidnapped. A twist yes, but how cool to see him go home at night and spend time with his little famil, he deserves this and not be alone for the rest of his life, he needs a kid and an wifey? NOT JLC, she's just too manly and it has nothing to do with her hair color, she so very wrong for him and I I want to puke seeing them kiss. Puke, Yuk, Vomit!

I wasn't offended about the grey hair remark anyway...I was just saying. Jamie Lee planted what seemed to be an unexpected and unwanted kiss on Gibbs in the elevator with the pizza in the next episode. 2 out of 2 found this valuable. Do you? |

"Soap opera as you call it is better than having Gibbs kiss this look alike that the writers seem to to be pushing as his love interest, someone he has no chemistry with. She needs to stick with Activia! If he's going to have a fling instead of a "soap opera" let it be with Mann or the "madam". Seriously do you really want Gibbs to live the rest of his life alone, and not being a father after grieving all these years over his daughtrer? I do."Gibbs is too old to be a father again. I'd hate a baby to come into the show, its focus would take up to much of screen time. Perhaps Palmer, as he is not a regular, concuring major role. The whole dynamics of the show would change. Gibbs is a loner, he has his own way of doing things. Living with a partner that makes him happy with his life would be fine, but once you bring too much "soap opera' into a show, it takes a dive. NCIS is about Navy murders and crimes they committ, not love stories about any of the characters. I feel the character thing has gone on long enough now, more so to the point of making it too much of a feature. I want crime and drama with team work. Not mush..thats for Days of Our Lives type shows. NO, soap opera is not better than having Gibbs feel lonely...he doesn't have to be, there are plenty of people he can be friends with, male and female, but Gibbs doesn't let a lot of people into his life. He likes to be alone. All thats really need to find out now is about Abby and her brother. If Jamie Lee becomes a recurring role, then thats good, Gibbs has another person to be friends with. 3 out of 3 found this valuable. Do you? |

The Character of Gibbs as a "loner" is appealing - he is very special - and the writers would not be right to make NCIS degenerate to the level of "SOAP" - Gods help us 2 out of 2 found this valuable. Those two women would be good friends for Gibbs. Its up to the writers to show it happening once in awhile. Put a smile on Gibbs face. I like Gibbs as a loner too, that's who Gibbs is. A family man?..no thanks, that changes too much...thats how i feel about it all anyway. 2 out of 2 found this valuable. Do you? |

I find I share many opinions with you Bells and Kymmie - our favourite Series - we should do all we can to prevent it becoming a soap - Hoping I get to posting this - I have had probs - the trouble with Soaps is that they become Sops - When there is a good series and it gets soapy - I feel it is simply catering for the Voyeur in many of us - we need Gibbs and the group and the friends and the Enemies - when they drop by but no DETAILED Family Sized Packets - but no detailed exposés of Family Details - Good Grief 1 out of 1 found this valuable. I hope we have reached the end of the character episodes and get back to good naval drama. We want all the characters to be happy in their life, just not in a marriage or with kids. 1 out of 1 found this valuable. Do you? |

My point, bottom line is that personally I felt that anyone would be better than JLC and a fling now and then would be nice, but not on every episode. Yeah the baby thing was over the top on my part, sorry about that. NCIS is what it is and that's why it's a success, certainly don't want any of the dynamics to change this series.
