I looked up Google images of Daniel Louis Rivas way back when she first said that she wanted him to play her brother. Back then I really couldn't find any pictures I thought looked that much like PP. But then the other day when I found out that he IS playing her brother, I looked up some more, and, wow! he really does look a lot like her. Especially in this pic: http://static.tvguide.com/MediaBin/Galleries/Celebrities/D_F/Dani_Dau/Daniel_Louis_Rivas/Daniel-Louis-Rivas.jpg

Can't wait to see how they handle the whole thing!

I am glad that they are doing a little more with Abby. I still want the \\ TEAM \\ back working together. I look at CSI and it seems they work most often as a team. I am also very excited that McGee is having his first marathon on USA on Saturday. I just love it but the Ziva episodes are better I think because of her persona. 90 minutes and counting! Just loved this episode, especially the end. It's so good to learn something about Abby's background. It seems she came from loving (and normal) parents even if not biologically. I noticed one little inconsistency though. I remember an early episode where an old boyfriend of Abby's brought a gift (perfume I think) from her mother, but I read her mother died in 2002 which would've been before the series began. I agree i loved this episode, so many great scenes.
Abby's mum could have died in a later season that we don't know about.
The reference to 2002 is when Pauley Perrette's mum died, that's her real mum in the picture in the locket.

The ep you're referencing is, I believe, from Season 1 and was called Minimum Security. And unless I'm confused, I think the old boyfriend was a gemologist she called on to help out with some particulars on some emeralds.

Yes it was the first time we met Paula Cassidy in gitmo. The guy brought perfume and she did say her mom suggested it.

I think your right ncisno1. It was Pauley's mom who died in 2002, not Abby's. I confused the two. That's neat that it was her real mom in the locket.

1. YES -- perfect actor for Abby's brother. Adorable. Same smile. The actors did a nice job playing up their similar expressions. He'll be a fun addition.

2. This is the first episode in a while that I've really enjoyed. It was a little obvious that something was "hinky" with the officer they were protecting, but all in all I felt it was a really enjoyable episode. The only thing that felt off to me was McGee's continuous deep irritation with Tony. Tony may be obnoxious with McGee but he also comes across as actually liking him under all the teasing. McGee these days comes across as really NOT liking Tony. And often correcting him or being more competent than Tony. If it's a writer's thread that will be developed over time, with some kind of culmination that leads to a deeper relationship -- okay. Actually, pretty interesting. But if it's just device to create banter or "humor" based on being mean to each other, it's making McGee seem like an unlikable sourpuss.
3.Back to the episode: I liked how both Tony and Ziva were taken in by the good looks of the people they were dealing with -- that it wasn't just a dumb Tony thing. Funny, I'm not really a Tony fan but I don't like it when he is made to look a fool or act too young for his age and postion. It demeans the whole team/episode.
4.And I have to say I loved the amount of Gibbs in this episode. For me, Mark Harmon is the glue to this program. I don't need his personal life at the center of the story but I always like his Gibbs-ness to be a central feature. Except for Abby, none of the other actors/characters to me have the weight to anchor a full episode.
A long post, sorry. I'm such an NCIS fan in my heart and was delighted at long last to feel the love.

DiNozzo definitely has the weight to anchor a full episode...to me, he's the key to the show, b/c he is its comic source (either directly, or b/c others in response to him) yet he is capable enough to lead the team (i.e. Hiatus, Bounce) should Gibbs not be around. The episode last year where DiNozzo was totally serious all the time (False Witness) really underscores how nonspecial NCIS is (compared with CSI and other crime drama shows that take themselves too seriously) without Tony's comic antics. I liked this episode. Definately better than last week. And the puppy was so cute-reminded me of Mortimer. Not too surprised that Abby might be adopted (it would be a really interesting story if it turned out she was kidnapped), kind of guessed that with the whole kidney donation thing. Does anyone else get the feeling Gibbs knew Abby's family, not just Abby? Might explain why he knows how to sign. Do you find this valuable?

Wow, it was a lot of new information from Abby. This season is a clear focus on families with the characters, if it can be concluded from this duty until the episodes.

Funniest moment was when DiNozzo "hugged" the house. When I saw it I said wht I laughed aloud and properly. :) For once, DiNozzo in the enthusiasm and intelligence. By intelligence I have missed in recent seasons.

It's interesting that Abby finds out she had a brother. And to think that she hadn't found out about this, if she didn't make the tests to donate a kidney. I want more of Abby related scenarios in the next episodes :D She is my favorite character :P Do you find this valuable?

I like Tony being goofy. I used to work a high stress job and we did stupid things to one another to relieve the stress. I think that is more Tony
