Have to admit I have rarely watched this episode, one of my least favorites due to the amount of gore and scary stuff. However, since I haven't watched it much, I'm not familiar with the team interaction, including Vance. Sounds like I'm missing key moments, will have to watch it again, in full daylight with my trusty guard dog nearby.

"It really is a fantastic episode, loaded with Steven Binder's customary wit and weirdness. It's the first episode where we see Gibbs and Vance beginning to become comfortable working with each other. Do you find this valuable? |

This episode is remembered in my mind as a Criminal Minds episode, LOL. It just seems to be more of a CM storyline than the usual NCIS fare. Too dark.

NCIS has dealt with dark storylines before. This one was personality driven. But the topic under discussion isn't the episode itself, but the relationship between Gibbs & Vance in the episode. "Not really. NCIS has dealt with dark storylines before. This one was personality driven.I've watched the episode again &see what you mean, Margy! I remembered the comment from Vance about McGee's shoes, but had totally forgotten the rest. Yes, even as he exclaims at Gibbs' audacious request to evacuate the Navy Yard, Vance still picks up the phone to do it. As he mutters that he doesn't know if he wants him (Gibbs) to be wrong or to be right. Do you find this valuable? |

After you brought it up I did realize this was a turning point in Vance & Gibbs relationships in this episode. I actually enjoyed their dance in season 6 as they were sizing each other up and learning to work with each other. This actually has become one of my favorite season 6 episodes. At first I didn't really like it so much, but it grew on me after a couple viewings. In part because I get to see Wojo again (Max Gale - played Det. Wojciehowicz in Barney Miller in the 70's) in part because I could see a psycho actually using youtube for some sick thing like that, and in part the way the bad guy targeted the team, specifically Gibbs. It adds a little more tension and another element to the episode that usually isn't there. Do you find this valuable? |
