What's with all these dead parents in one episode? Tony's mother is dead too!I like how Tony was totally jealous of DiNozzo Sr. And I like how Sr. caught the bad guy totally by surprise by punching him in the face~ Do you find this valuable? |

I loved the last scene with Tony and his father, it was a bit touching and they talked and shared their favorite father son memory. Sr keeps a photo of him and Tony when Tony was a kid and they went on a fishing trip. Tony misses his old father and wants to be able to talk to him like old times. Sr agreed that they will talk again :) Sr bounced into Donald Trump and DT said he will pay for Sr's ticket back. 1 out of 1 found this valuable. Do you? |

This was a really good episode, I liked it, every bit; but I think it was shorter than normal, or maybe it was too good, I wanted more :DTony was normal Tony - not silly or incompetent. I liked the last scene he had with his father, hope to see Sr again. There was a very brief bad a**, kick a** Ziva. Gibbs described her as a weapon. Well, I said what I had to say about the episodes in my previous post. When I think of more I will be back. 3 out of 3 found this valuable. Do you? |

Sr annoyed the h8ck outta Fred with all his purchases and when Fred asked why it's okay that Sr did that after Gibbs said it was worth it, Vance said that it's classified.

Well, we know a little bit more about Tony, Sr. I think Gibbs will soon figure him out. It was pretty sensational when he tapped the bad guy and he went down. It was also pretty mystifying that he was riding on the private jet with all the big wigs that deal with arms buyers. Hmmm......

Hahaha, yeah I liked when he punched the bad guy and he went down, but he looked around first then punched him. I liked when he asked his son for his cuffs to cuff the guy he punched.

In the spirit of honesty:What. the. hell. was that? Okay, everybody knows I'm a DiNozzo fan. But that was just crap. MW basically got to play unhinged!Tony in order to what? Highlight the coolness of his tv-dad? To emphasize that when his father comes to town, Tony goes batspit crazy? They could have given him something much better to work with. I mean - the freakout over the 4.30AM call and not being able to reach the old man? They could have really played upon that. (And they never answered why his dad called him at 4.30AM). That's not to say it didn't have some great moments that bordered on vignettes. I loved the bromance "make the probie do it" moment when our boys pulled rank on Ziva (OT: hopefully after dumpster diving she had to burn that vomitastic shirt - eugh!). I liked how McGee tried to 'protect' Tony from the emotional bombing run that his father's presence on the aircraft presented. I liked Gibbs and Senior. Nice NCIS vs the world moment with Vance against the Admiral. Nice detail on Abby's life. I even liked how they finally acknowledged that with Ziva's previous employment, someone was bound to recognize her! BUT?! I really didn't like it. It seemed trite and disjointed to me - lots of team time but it just jumped around too much. They tried to be everything to everyone and pleased none. We know they can write good father-son moments (Gibbs and his dad, the ending of BROKEN ARROW). I'm not expecting THE GODFATHER here; but I really think that was thrown together. ::totally ticked in Toronto:: 0 out of 7 found this valuable. Do you? |

Maybe Sr was calling at 4:30pm to let his son know he was gonna be in town? I think that's why he was calling.I didn't like the part where Sr was flirty with Ziva when he touched her behind - bleh. I like when Ziva's former employment and who she really is was recognized, I didn't see that coming. I saw nothing wrong with her shirt :D I also like the detail on Abby's life. I don't get why Tony is suddenly being portrayed as unrealistic concerning his father. Tony barely knows the man; why would he *not* be wary of what his father is up to, especially since he disappears for years at a time and lately tends to turn up only as a suspect in murder/terrorism investigations. 1 out of 4 found this valuable. For years, they have built on Tony and his father having a bad relationship and now we get...this! And all of a sudden they are both over it. The man disowned Tony when he was 12. There's bound to be a lot of anger and mistrust. I like Robert Wagner, but I get the feeling these shows are written for him and his personality and are not building on the past evidence of a bad relationship. They are going for funny and I think they are overdoing it a little bit. I think I would like it better with more drama. They should have had a real villain to be Tony's dad. LOL. Even Gibbs seemed to be coming around to Tony's dad. Anyway, I've thought about the ending and have decided that Tony's dad is a conman. What's to say he wasn't conning Tony then? 1 out of 4 found this valuable. Do you? |

Yes, sorry I meant about that, I meant am - typo. Like I said previously, maybe he was calling to say he was coming. Also, Sr isn't "normal" and don't really care that much that's why he called at that time. I think Tony just accepted his father in the end and Tony was worried. Tony is probably over it cause he want to be on good terms with his father now, he has sort of put the past behind him and wants to move forward and hopefully connect back with his father. Different people overcome their mistrust and anger faster than others, not everyone is the same; so Tony probably came to terms that his father is some mysterious conman and decided to put it aside and talk to his dad, and see if they can have a better relationship.

" The man disowned Tony when he was 12. There's bound to be a lot of anger and mistrust. "I think the "disowning him" was another word for "I'm a conman, there's really nothing to inherit so I'll pretend I disown you so you never realise that" or something like that. And if I'm not wrong, both of Abby's parents are dead. Do you find this valuable? |

"I like ti so far, so far so good. It will eb a good episode :)"I think this was the best written episode of the season. At 45 minutes into the show, I coulldn't figure out how they were going to end it in 15 minutes but they did and they did it beautifully!! Kudos to the writers! The only thing I was concerned about was Mark's voice didn't sound right. Is he sick? Anyone else notice this? 2 out of 2 found this valuable. Do you? |

"I agree newgirl. It confuses me that when NCIS got to be consistently top rated, it felt like they changed the formula, which makes no sense to me. That's when plots began to feel a bit contrived & thin. That's when the writing for the noted guest actor of the week came into play and that's when what I call Caricature Tony cringe moments started. Thankfully, there wasn't that this time and I did enjoy the bro moment he had with McG. And I kind of liked the unified Vance & Gibbs moment (though they make good antagonists for each other too). Yes, I found this ep entertaining, but moreso as humorous fluff. I long for the sink-your-teeth-into-it drama punctuated by smart levity back and I want capable Tony back & I want Gibbs to kick some butt & I want all my characters in character with the backstory the writers have constructed over the previous 7 seasons ... well, mostly the first 6. I don't know what to do with an NCIS in which McGee & Ziva consistently do the heavy lifting. I read a wonderfully light & funny, yet apt piece written by Laine3112 over on fanfiction.net called The Cremasteric Reflex which explores exactly what may have happened to Tony's manhood. It was that story that made me realize I'm not the only one who sees it this way.Don't apologize; you're just frustrated like a lot of the rest of us who don't understand what they're doing with the characters and the backstory. 1 out of 6 found this valuable.
