5) Lets the target go then swiftly lures them back into danger.
6) The target, thinking danger has passed, falls easily back into danger.
7) The final strike is swift and merciless.
8) Lesson: ignore flattery, for it will get you dead.

I think Franks is an 'expediency' guy - use 'em when you need 'em then chuck 'em when you're done. I just don't trust him; ever since he conked Tony on the head to go off after Arkady. To me, that was the moment that highlighted the darker side of Franks - he doesn't care who gets hurt as long as he wins. He doesn't care about anyone not immediately relevant to him.

There was a callous disregard there that I personally found chilling.

I can see him throwing Tony under the bus and honestly not understanding why anyone up to and including Gibbs would object. "
