What do you want for Season 8 ?!
Apr 3 2010, 10:07 AM EDT | Post edited: May 12 2010, 9:37 PM EDT
We know that this site is observed by CBS , and probably by NCIS writers , so we could post here our desires for Season 8 .

What would you like to have ? What wouldn't you like to see ?
More characters' personal story ? More crime ? More action ?
Less or more guest stars and recurring characters ? Which one of them ?
What kind of stories and investigations ?

Let's start talking and ... asking !!! :)
(official spoilers are allowed , rumors not)

I would like more action..less obvious "who done it" as well...no more character personal information...no one dating each other..a halloween episode..a christmas episode with EVERYONE in it..Gibbs, his dad and maybe the Mother in law..Franks and Emira, Lelya and Shada, Fornell and Emily.. Abby and her cousin and brother..Mcgee and his sister Sarah...Tony and his dad..Ducky..and Palmer of course...Vance and all his family. I'd like to have a sea, marine action episode. And guest stars I would like to see Robert Vaughn and David McCallum in an episode.

I would like for Ziva and Ducky to have afternoon tea in autopsey again...and I would love for Abby to have a birthday party so we know how old she is.

1)Absolutely NO more episodes written by Gary Glasberg.
2)I'm hoping the whole Col. Bell and the Lady Lawyer arc will resolve itself enough by the end of this season that they don't come back. I don't like the idea of a recurring individual enemy.
3) I'd like to see more involved, complex cases that span more than one episode. Do the people at the real NCIS only work on one case at a time?
4)I'd like to see the crime scene skills Tony is supposedly noted for to be displayed more often.

I haven't liked any episode GG has written. imho-all of his writing efforts for NCIS are poorly plotted and disjointed. The subplots are never woven into the fabric of the episode but are instead irritating sidebars that distract from the story. His main plots are thin and obvious AND he doesn't ever respect overall feel of the show. He writes 'television' and THIS is NCIS.
Each week when I watch a new episode, I immediately want to watch the same episode again to catch the small moments. I didn't feel that way with 'Endgame' and figured well, they can't all be that good. Then later in the season I watched 'Faith' and felt the same way. That's when I checked the writing credits. I was dreading how bad 'Mother's Day' was going to be. It was the only episode of his I watched more than once but it only got worse on second viewing.
Sorry to be so down on one of your favs but, again imho, this guy is bringing down the grade of NCIS. He's one of the Exec Producers, he's new to the show so maybe no one wants to tell him he's a bad writer but I've got nothing to lose except bad episodes on NCIS!

It's pure and simple for me. I'd like a little...only a little...more backstory on some of the NCIS characters, no more deep focus on "romances", and a whole lot of tying up all the loose ends we've been getting teased with over the past 2-3 season, but that still haven't been resolved. And, with this in mind, NO MORE "new" bread crumbs until many of the older ones have been addressed to our satisfaction. Everything is so cluttered and confusing to most fans now, even the most addicted fans among us, that I honestly don't know how anyone just STARTING to watch NCIS can possible know what's going on! Somebody in Production really needs to get a grip on the "loose ends", IMHO. 4  out of 4 found this valuable. Do you?

O, that's like Christmas time her now. :)
My wish list to (Santa) SB:
I'd liked a lot of loose ends tied up in the next season and crime centered eps.
We've had enough character background information.
And please, no more romances.
I'd like to see Fornell, Trent Kort, Jackie Vance and Jordan Hampton and maybe Gibbs' Dad.
And I don't need any other guest stars.

I seriously agree with the comments about tighter, less obvious plots and less writing by Gary G. Sorry, but he undermines character and continuity when he writes. He's good at individual moments where we get a little insight into the characters' pasts but his plotting when it comes to story lines and arcs really isn't very good. Too many holes and too many improbable moments.

No more superGibbs! The thing I love about Gibbs is he is a flawed man. Making him infallible and impossible to defeat makes him into a caricature.

I would like the real story behind how Gibbs hired Tony. "I smiled"? Come on, there's some serious drama that could be found there! Tony was a homicide detective in one of the most hard-core cities in the USA. It had to be ugly and cold and vicious, whatever the case was. If the guy whodunit got out and started gunning for Tony and Gibbs? Ooh. Yummy!

I'd also like to see more Tony-Abby friendship. Abby (and Tony) are both smart, successful people. Treating them like caricatures (the CheerfulGoth! the FratBoyWithHeart!) demeans both the characters and the drama. Two great actors - give them more meat and less starch!

Ok , understood .
I didn't say he's one of my favourite , I just said that I like "Faith" pretty much . I'm with you on "Endgame" and I've found unbelievable Gibbs' behavior in "Mother's Day" .

I would still like to see bits and pieces of the characters backgrounds, we really don't know much about Abby and I agree that it is time we learnt how the Gibbs-Tony relationship started. i enjoy the background stories but what I really enjoy, what got me hooked in the first place, was the interaction between the characters and how they solved some their cases, so that is what I would wish for , and I agree that an ongoing crime would be an interesting aside to the norm. 3  out of 3 found this valuable. Ha ha it is a Christmas wish list I agree,

Dear Santa (S.B),
For season 8 of NCIS I would like to see.....

1. Team interaction, the banter, and fun which many of us fell in love with.

2. More case focus- I'm really wanting some intrigueing case heavy episodes (with the team banter) but something that keeps me on the edge of my seat, something where it takes me the whole episode to figure out the who done it.

3. I want an episode where the team is on a carrier or other big ship - in stead o rock creek park - way too many people die there he he.

4. Like many others I want to see some hints on how Tony and Gibbs met and what the stoy was, maybe not a whole uncovering of what happened but hints would be nice.. In fact I prefer hints to all the back storie. As aposed to a full episode dedicated to them. (excet for maybe Tony/Gibbs a full ep may be acceptable).

5. Bring on he Tony/Gibbs interaction/dynamic this was the relationship that first got me hooked to NCIS no matter how you see them (father/son for me) the dynamic between the two is awesome, more please!

6. No more Tiva, I'm over it. I don't mind the interaction between the two as partners/friends but that's all. No love in the bullpen.

7.Not so many guest stars- recurring is fine. Would love to see more of Gibbs dad, Tonys father (but not trying to suck up to Tony - Gibbs is his real dad), more fornell and wouldn't mind seeing Kort either and what about Ernie Yost - I Love that guy.

I have been very good all year, and will leave milk and cookies for you Santa (SB)

Love NCIS let's hope they keep the team members alive in season 8!

1. Smart, competent Tony - still funny, but showing some of the abilities and intelligence we saw in S1 and 2 that made it obvious why Gibbs wanted him on his team. No more idiot child, immature and embarrassing, but someone who contributes to solving the cases. He is the Senior Agent; let's see him behave like that, and let's see Gibbs treat him like that.

2. Human Gibbs - as opposed to Super!Gibbs and grumpy!Gibbs;

3. Grown up Abby - not the demented child we have (hardly) seen recently. And lots more of her;

4. Nice McGee - not arrogant, disrespectful and snarky. Some fun Tony / McGee moments;

5. Plots that involve ...(drumroll)..... THE NAVY!! Not just a dead petty officer, but actual naval activities. So a big YES to the person who suggested a big SHIP.

6. NOT MORE FAMILY MEMBERS - no fathers, mothers, in-laws, uncles, aunts, cousins.... It has just been too full on this seasons and frankly its ridiculous. We used to get interesting, teasing hints about the character's backstory; now we get drowned by giant gooey truckloads of it at the expense of continuity, common sense and plot.

7. No more Gibbs backstory / 1991! If you want to give backstory, maybe Gibbs/Tony, but make it case related - their first case which comes back to haunt them or something like that. But otherwise, please no more Shannona and Kelly. And if you are going to do backstory - GET IT RIGHT. If we can remember what information was disclosed on seasons s1-4, why can't the writers?

8. Crimes that make sense and take some solving. No more brothers killing brothers, no more "genius children". Something big that takes a couple of episodes. Serial killer anyone? 3 episode undercover arc?

9. No inter-team romance. None.

Hmmm what do I want for Christmas ... er Season 8 I mean :) Well for starters I want the whole team together, intact, no more splitting up.
I want lots and lots and LOTS of humor.
It's ok to see Gibbs Dad again but I would like them all to focus more on the NCIS family relationship.
I DEFINTELY want Fornell again more than once.
Don't want Mike Franks to show up again but I do want to see Gibbs interaction with Emira once or twice.
More Palmer!!!!
No "sexual tension" in the team.
Really not interested in Gibbs' love life interfering with cases and with his relation with the kids :) Yeah I do want to see Gibbs happy with a woman her loves but as a side happening not as part of the main plot.
I really really want much less Vance. Not that I don't like him, I mean I love Rocky but Vance is a little too much for me and he is given a much bigger role than in the show than he should have.
That's all I guess for now but I might add some to my Santa's list later, like maybe umm Gibbs, Tony, and McGee, delivered to my door with a package of honeydust? No? Sure? Darn ... had to ask anyway :)
