"does anyone know the name & singer who sang the song in this episode about rain"
The song was "Someday the Rains Will Fall" and it was by John Mellencamp. I'm still mourning the fact that he played a concert near my home last summer and performed with Bob Dylan and Willie Nelson and I missed it.

"Thanks lyoalfan. Grief is a continuing process. Your words helped me.

I should clarify what I meant. I do see Ducky's character doing exactly what he did. With regards to his mother he has isolated that relationship from the others except when he had no choice. The only 2 times we see her are In the meat puzzle when Tony and Kate went and stayed with Ducky and his mother because he was in danger and when Ducky had to bring her to work (cant remember the title). Although he speaks of her, he never invited anyone to his house for dinner until this year when his mother is in the nursing home. I think he was embarassed by her. He made sure he didn't turn out like her. I think this is why he handled the funeral by himself.

As for the dogs and the house, he lived with her but the house, furniture and decorations were what she wanted not what he wanted. Some people want to hold on to what was there when their loved one was alive and some feel they need to remove themselves from those memories. This is what he wanted."
Hi Again,
I can certainly see Ducky wanting his "own" home. That is probably a healthy step in moving on with his life. Only he would know when it was the right time to take that step.

I never thought that he tried to hide his mother, though. His colleagues spoke as if they knew her. He often mentioned her to them. If I remember correctly, I think he had an annual Thanksgiving gathering at his home while she was still living there. I always thought he did very well in keeping himself balanced while he was acting as her caregiver.

In the past he has eluded to that but in Child's play she had been already in the nursing home.

"I don't know that we're supposed to think his interaction with Tony ultimately caused his death. There was obviously a time lapse between the two scenes, to suggest that Mayne possibly had two instances of distress. At the end of the first scene, Tony and the two women are at the door. Then, at the scene where Mayne dies, they aren't near the room and are coming from another direction, which suggestions to me that some time has passed."
Actually Tony and the two women are two doors away at the end of the first scene, so it does look like they came in from the same place in the second scene, except Tony had grabbed a coffee cup in the mean time.

I saw the scene again, and what I feel exonerates Tony is that at the end of the first scene the nurse seems to calmly go back to her seat.

124. Harper Dearing?

Just watched a rerun of this eppi. During the scene where the private investigator is arrested I noticed something in the background, A crowd begins to gather as the team is making the arrest and in the center of the crowd is a guy with gray hair and a beard wearing a black overcoat. Sure looks like Harper Dearing to me. I know it probably isnt him, but you know what Gibbs says about coincidences... Do you find this valuable?
