My least favorite character is Vance. He does not inspire trust. He does not appear to be loyal to his team. I do not like his "hands off" Director's style. He adds nothing to the show. He is lacking in personality and passion. He is more interested in covering himself at all times than in doing the right thing. I have tried to see another side of him but I simply do not enjoy watching him. I did not particularly like Hollis Mann because she appeared condescending to the people around her. I did, however, enjoy watching her because she showed a strong personality and a passion for her work and personal life (the one she wanted to have with Gibbs). 0 out of 2 found this valuable. Towards KathleenPhelan: How can you say that?!! Abby is awsome!! I personally hate Leon Vance. There is just somthing about him that makes me want to shoot him! i know, some of you are thinking, "why don't you hate Ari Haswari or La Grenouille?" I just think that Ari might be kinda fun to be around, and La Grenouille sounds like a pretty cool dad

Vance is persistent and capable,and don't allow someone else to make decisions instead of him-including Gibbs.Reminds me so much of Morrow.I think he's capable of making really tough decisions without being overly sentimental about it, and I appreciate that in a character. I like the Vance/Gibbs stuff, and the way that he is a very multi-dimensional character - wife, kids and then this hardass. he and Gibbs have a cool thing where they both respect each other more than they let on. They just play off each other so nicely. I think he's a good man, but he definitely has a darker side to him, which will make for interesting character development. 1 out of 1 found this valuable. That is one of the things that, to me, just falls flat. Gibbs was a more interesting character with Directors Morrow and Shepard. I hope you are right that he does have the potential for interesting character development. Do you find this valuable? |

"Hi Dani g,From my POV the last ep.-Masquerade-shows that their interaction is way far than flat.And that's not only my POV-I get an impression majority of the viewers think that way too.No offence-everyone has a right to have their own POV,of course.:) Do you find this valuable? |

many people keep saying they hate Vance. I hated him, too. But when he gets into a case and acts like a special agent he isn't half bad. But when he goes Evil Director that's when i dislike his character .

Yeah, I have to say I'm enjoying scenes with Gibbs and Vance especially when they play off each other with an interrogation like in Masquerade. Vance is much better this season than he was last season. I think that's intentional. He's been around, he's getting used to the team, they're getting used to him or at the very least Gibbs is. I still don't like the fact that he prefers agents like McGee over Dinozzo. I know why he does and I get it, but I still don't like it.
