Very well written blog ... and timely. I've seen a few comments already on various threads about what we might expect to see in the first episode of Season 7. Once seen, they cannot be unseen. And I don't want to see them!

I even avoid the official promos and trailers because I hate being taken in by an intentional red herring. Perhaps I'm too much like Monk in this regard, but it's how I feel. :-)

Everyone should try hard to not throw out spoilers unless they are specifically labeled as such and so can be avoided by those who don't want to know beforehand.

"Glad you liked the blog. Who's Monk?"
'Monk' is an American television about a "defective detective". (jml709 was hinting that he/she is OCD in regards to spoilers, I think)

But I'm a little confused about your entry. You don't have a problem with official spoilers and their associated speculation, do you? If this is just against illegal spoilers then I am in total agreement. Pre-airing buzz is a good thing, but I prefer not to find out how something ends until I see it.

We have no problem with officially released information. I did a blog entry a while ago which stated this site's position regarding spoilers. Have a read, it might help clear up the confusion.

Thanks about explaining Monk.

I don't like "spoilers" per se. The "official" spoilers are really "trailers" or snippets of information released by the series in question, a "true" or "illegal" spoiler gives away too much information to the extent, viewing a film or TV episode is a waste of time.

As this is one of my personal rants I probably soapboxed and followed my own train of thought, without questioning whether it would be followed by others - apologies for any confusion

I've been known to close my eyes, stick my fingers in my ears, and sing, "lalalalalalalalalalalala" through commercials. So, I'm not a fan of the spoiler. Even commercials can give away too much. I'd probably be okay, but I have to dwell on them and oftentimes I can figure out what's going to happen. Much rather not know in this case. Twenty days!! 1  out of 1 found this valuable. Do you?

Me too! Or I quickly turn the channel or hit the mute button. Like I said, I avoid the official promos, trailers, and commercials because I hate being taken in by an intentional red herring. They don't need to hook me with a 'someone will die' or whatever. I'm already hopelessly hooked! :-D

Sorry for the confusion caused by the "Monk" reference. It's a show on the USA Network (also the same channel that airs NCIS reruns here in the states). Tony Shaloub plays Adrian Monk, a former police detective turned private investigator who has obsessive-compulsive disorder. "Monk" is a crime drama with lots of humor, but it's nowhere near to being a clone of NCIS. "Monk" is in its last season now and hopefully one day you'll be able to catch it on reruns. It's also a very good show.

I'm gonna have to totally disagree and say I love spoilers, if someone asked if i wanted to know what happens at the end of the season and haven't seen it yet i would say yes :) In the mornings after episodes aired in the US I have to read a recap very quickly and watch it when i get home. 2  out of 2 found this valuable. I like spoilers too! It's my first search in the net every day! But I understand that some people don't want to know previously what will happen in the next episode. So, I'll be more careful with the info that I share with you about spoilers or officialk information, ok? Maybe a place where we can put all the info and if you don't want to know itd easy to avoid it!

That would be SWEET (as McGee might say). I know I'd appreciate it!
