Sad that this even needs to be said. But I agree that the illegally obtained information should not ever be continued though sometimes it is hard to find out the source of "the spoiler" until after the surprise is already ruined. Folks I know it can be exciting to have "information" that no one else knows, but there are reasons that the information had been kept quiet. I prefer to have my surprise a real surprise instead of just waiting until the "moment' happens and see how it was worked into the script. Though the show could have left out a couple of surprises in my book! (Vance being the successor and breaking up the team. Gibbs "retiring.") So leave the leaked information alone and don't pass it on and maybe we can stop some of those people from even trying to post the information. 1  out of 3 found this valuable. Do you?

Spoilers became so bad in season 5 that the cast., with the exception of Rocky Carroll who had to learn the lines, weren't told about the splitting up of the team.

You've got no idea how much time I spent last season chasing down spoiler material. The company has been able to shut off one source, I think. But we need them all shut down.

It has been mentioned to me that sometimes you'll repeat something you may have read somewhere...but how do you know if its become common knowledge yet or not? I have inadvertently done it my self. Somebody might mention/ ask about some trivial little thing and ya get jumped on. Do you find this valuable?

My rule of thumb tends to be if you can't verify the source, don't post.

"Yes Boss."
I guess I am less proud of my featured post about the Ausiello spoiler. I just felt like I was withholding information from fellow fans and since I was certain of the source [Ausiello files]. I'm sorry if I spoiled the fun for anyone. =[

Cath, Ausiello is fine. People can chose to read those if they wish and really, nothing major is EVER given away in those snippets. Just little bits to tantalize.

You have nothing to be sorry for. I was talking about the material that is leaked/stolen and put on the internet. Not officially released material.

"Official spoilers are acceptable. These are snippets of information released to the media by CBS or by Shane Brennan. Shane Brennan's usually come in the form of teasers given out to trusted media people such as Michael Ausiello or Matt Rousch, or any other avenue that Shane may choose to utilize. These are usually hints, or more usually cryptic comments, about forthcoming events."

I would like to know then..if you read something on another site say, that isnt referred to being said by "such and such"...how do you know its not true and you just happen to ask some one about it and can they confirm it? Is that wrong? 2  out of 2 found this valuable. Do you?

If you can't directly trace it back don't post it. End of story. Otherwise it will turn into an internet version of Chinese Whispers. You don't have exact source, then don't post. If the source isn't an obvious official source like Ausiello, or Rousch or the Hollywood Reporter for that matter. Check before posting. Send it to me. I will check it out with my sources.

Gee any chance your sources could get us an exclusive little tiny spoiler of our own? NOTHING to give away plot secrets but our own exclusive news? Sigh I guess probably not. Don't want to cause problems.

I totally get that; I mean if TIVA (as in bumping knees and all that) is the focus of season 7 I'd as soon as wait until as late as possible to find that out. Shudders, but hey, I can sail up the river denial as well as any.

I'm just afraid of the expected CROWING from certain sectors if 'their' ship sails into port; even if only becasue I have real issues with their "we are entitled to TIVA" attitude. Under that banner why can't I be entitled too? What is so special about them... sorry; getting cross again. Back to writing fanfic; at least there I can write exactly what I want.

From the website of Entertainment Weekly....

Question: When is Gibbs going to start building a new boat on NCIS? And where’d the last one go? —Christopher

Ausiello: Sounds like a question for exec producer Shane Brennan. “In the first three or four episodes, Gibbs has his tape measure out and he’s measuring the basin,” he teases. “And everyone will have to wait and see what goes in there. I will tell you this: You haven’t seen the last of the boat.”

Question: Any news on who will replace Louise Lombard as the female lead of NCIS: Los Angeles? —NM

Ausiello: It’s an up-an-coming actress by the name of No One. “At this point, I don’t think we’re going to be adding anyone else to the cast,” says Brennan. “We have enough strength in the cast.” Although Lombard’s Lara Macy won’t be sticking around full-time, Brennan doesn’t rule out an occasional guest appearance down the line. “She didn’t die,” he says. “We’ll find out that she went to an overseas post. When Callen (Chris O’Donnell) was shot last season, they had to move to the new operation center and [Lara] was relocated. Will she come back? Never say never.”
