It took a lot for Tony to say what he had to say to Jeanne in "Internal Affairs" despite the fact he was badly heartbroken. It took guts on his part. He wasn't mad because Jeanne accused him of murdering her father, he was mad because she wound up getting hurt by him and by the death of her father.

I agree. That was another high point.

I personally loved the episode Requiem...seeing a bit more of Gibbs' background/past in his daughter's best friend, and seeing a small glimpse of the softer, more vulnerable Gibbs, as he tries to save her and remembers Kelly.
I love any episode that has Gibbs' past in it! I like Gibbs' personality as he usually is, and I wouldn't want a change overall, but it is always nice to have an episode here and there where he's more vulnerable!

I found it hard to love Requiem. Gibbs apparently dead in the first few minutes of the show nearly gave me a nervous breakdown. lol.

haha, yeah, I can see how that would! But I figured, he HAD to survive somehow, cause there's no way (I hope, lol) that they would kill Gibbs! And besides that part, Requiem is one of my favorite eps.

Oh, and one specific highlight from that ep that I forgot to mention: that beautiful last scene where Gibbs tosses the photos of Kelly and Maddie, and him and Maddie onto his workbench and when the camera pans to them, they're perfectly lined up so it lookes like young Kelly and Gibbs and older Maddie are all hugging each other/have their arms around each other. I cry EVERY single time I see that scene - it's so beautiful and sad at the same time!

I've decided that "Chimera" is officially my favorite episode. It has all the playfulness that we've come to love, but still it has a solid story going on. Do you find this valuable?

I'm watching S5 again now and wanted to point out that editing-wise "Internal Affairs" has to be one of the best edited episodes yet. That section that ends the 3rd act, with Tony finding out he's the suspect, is really tight. All that cutting between interrogation, Gibbs & Jeanne, and Gibbs' basement is very well done. That type of editing has been one of the hallmarks of NCIS. That's a great example. 1  out of 1 found this valuable. Do you?

I thought the editing in Internal Affairs was fantastic. I think I commented about the way is segued from interrogation to interrogation in my blog.

That entire episode is a season 5 high point.
