he does doesnt he? Lol.. he loks very relaxed which is rare for the good old Gibbsy. I hope to learn more about Vance as i see he has good potential. He got off to a rocky start with Gibbs and I am hoping that is all behind them. I also hope to learn even if it is a "little bit" more about Tony.. he is my favourite character and I do wish to learn more about him. And I cant forget "Tiva" oh the Tiva.. It is killing me.. when will thes two hook up? It seem obvious every week.. but yet no Tiva.. i think the writers enjoy seeing us suffer.. thoes evil evil people.. lol (no i am joking writers i still love you all for writing fantstic NCIS eeach week..but hurry up with Tiva already) OH before i forget.. dose anyone hav any idea's on what the paper was that Vance shredded?? "I for one am glad Vance has a family.I've often wondered if that was an intentional decision, an implication that the job (especially while working under Gibbs) is terminal to real relationships unless the S.O. does the same thing (though that's barred with his Rule 12) or perhaps a hint that Gibbs only attracts/recruits ... "broken" people like him (though McGee's relative emotional stability in comparison to Gibbs, DiNozzo & David seems to clash with this latter thought.) Personally, I'm looking forward to get a little more insight into Vance (who I actually rather like as a character, moreso than Jenny at any rate who came across as a bit crazy to me), though I am disappointed that (based on the promos), Ziva is once again teamed up with McGee. I desperately hope that the return of the head slaps (which I didn't much miss actually) means they're going to address why Tony has been so damned immature most of this season and written less competently than either McGee or Ziva. I'll also admit to having in recent weeks made a serious attempt to dial back my expectations. I recognize that I'm in the minority, but this season hasn't impressed me that much (barring a handful of episodes) because the team dynamics seem all messed up (to me, anyway.) I don't recall Jethro giving him the info. Anybody else?? In the promo Vance's wife says something about telling her when bringing over friends?? Are they really buddies?? McGee had to grow into who he is now from the insecure, easily intimidated kid he was when he started 5 years ago. So I agree, Gibbs attracts damaged people who he can care for in his own particular way. I enjoy the dynamics between Vance and Gibbs. Very good synergy!! I must say there have been several times this season my palm itched watching to give Tony a headslap myself!! Personally, I think Tony is fighting against growing up. I figured the team dynamics would be different. It was almost like the team died and had to be resurrected. Bound to be some hard time adjusting. there have been some wonderful episodes this season but I know what you mean about the team dynamic. And teaming Ziva with McGee is getting old for me too. 1 out of 1 found this valuable. Do you? |

So I agree, Gibbs attracts damaged people who he can care for in his own particular way.Man, I wish I could quote blocks here and there. I don't much like this one quote and that's it. The difference with McGee, I think, is that he seems undamaged in comparison to his co-workers. Sure, he was insecure at the beginning, but that was mostly due to lack of experience, not a maladjusted upbringing ala Tony or Ziva. For that matter, Kate seemed pretty undamaged, so it makes me wonder whether my theory has any merit. I've disliked this season's portrayal of Tony because it's like he regressed in terms of maturity. Pop in "Yankee White" and compare how level-headed, mature, competent yet still kind of funny he was then. He grew up last season after the whole Benoit nightmare, and seemed pretty well-adjusted and mature in "Agent Afloat." Maybe something in D.C. zapped him with a brain-altering ray or something. As to the team dynamics, I just miss them actually coming across as friends or a dysfunctional family. Now, more often than not, they just feel like co-workers. :( YMMV. So here's to hoping this episode reignites my enjoyment of the series! 2 out of 2 found this valuable. Do you? |
