"The only thing that made me *almost* do the whole 'wow' thing was the bit where Vance had Gibbs' personal file and said "We all have something to hide" or something along those lines. Loved the fact that they both have each other's files (even though Vance doesn’t know that) and Vance was the one who gave in and read it. "I don't think Vance read the whole file. Gibbs said the last 5 pages were really interesting, or whatever and when Vance opened it, it was like half way through the file. Im hoping he just read what was relevant so that there is still a lot of secrets between the two. I like that they sometimes doubt whether they can trust each other. That tension and mystery is a big part of the whole dynamic of their relationship! I liked this episode more than the previous one but Im even more excited about next weeks with Tony taking the lead. Bring back the 'camp fire'! 1 out of 1 found this valuable. Do you? |

Last time he was only back temporarily and didn't participate...I'm gonna love to see his reaction next week. It's gonna be a chuckle-fest! 1 out of 1 found this valuable. Do you? |

Vance has had access to all of Gibbs' files from his NIS/NCIS days for a long time since he was Asst Director before becoming Director. There probably isn't a lot he doesn't know about Gibbs professional life for his time at NCIS. I don't know. I kind of like the shouting across the squadroom. hehe But I like the campfires too. I'm joining this discussion a little late (its Wednesday evening), but one thing I want to say, which is probably not been said, is that I think the photography for this episode was the best I've seen. I loved this episode in many respects, but something new to me was how they did the photography. WOW!

"I didn’t partially enjoy this episode... it was kind of all over the place and only in like the last 40 seconds or so I only began to enjoy it. There was nothing in this episode that made me go "wow, now that’s why I love this show". To me it didn’t have any of its typical NCIS magic. The only thing that made me *almost* do the whole 'wow' thing was the bit where Vance had Gibbs' personal file and said "We all have something to hide" or something along those lines. Loved the fact that they both have each other's files (even though Vance doesn’t know that) and Vance was the one who gave in and read it. But still, even with that bit, I won’t mind missing it when it airs in Australia. But that’s just me."Honestly, I loved it! I wish there were moore episodes like this. I really enjoyed how the plot twisted so that we all were thinking the Gibbs was the father and then BAM... the opposite is true! Great stuff! This IS why I love NCIS 1 out of 1 found this valuable. Great stuff! This IS why I love NCIS"You actually believe "she was pregnant with you before I knew her"? This show is getting into the area of lies and misinformation. It really adds to the intrigue. I figured that they were going down that path from the instant that Vance arrived. LOVE how they bring Franks back occasionally. He's the "get it done" expert. Vance is the "by the book". Quite an interesting conflict, and I hope they continue with it. Ducky had a small part in Deliverance. I wonder if that's because the previous episode was a lot of work. 1 out of 1 found this valuable. Do you? |

"And I STILL don't know why they called it 'Deliverance""An alternative definition of "Deliverance" means "rescue from danger" or "freed from restraint". Deliverance applied to both Gibbs and Tomas. - - - Abby dancing around in her lab and then sneaking over to Mclovin' for the info/rumor she got on Gibbs. Ziva with the 9mm Baretta at the firing range, before and after the shot. You saw her anxious to fire a round when they got there and Tony trying to hold her back. "You sights are 2mm off" had me cracking up! Tony back with the Mc____ names. I believe he even said McIntosh didn't he? Ducky is starting to depress me now, 2 episodes after he was "broken." and he sounds like the most boring college professor ever for an 8am class. Bring back the old Ducky!!! (Just hope McCallum is not ill - 1 scene! - or being written off to retirement in the show - now THAT would really be depressing) Gibbs and Franks together again - need we say more about the two? Whenever Gibbs gets paired up with either Franks or Fornell it's always a good scene. Episode was indeed slow as some have mentioned. However, the ending more than made up for it. Gibbs and Tomas(or Thomas) bonding as Marines only for us to learn in the very next scene that Gibbs killed Tomas' father. THAT was a twist worth waiting for in the end. Do you find this valuable? |

I particularly liked it because recently here in calgary (alberta, canada) we had some problems with drug gangs recently, to the point where shots were fired in a resturant with innocent people in it. I found myself feeling slightly sorry for Tomas's mom/gaurdian and kind of seeing where you would have found supplying kids with marine weapons a good idea.Loved Tony's thing with messages. i thought the show might go for a kind of 'huge misunderstanding' thing where Tony goes off after every random melinda in DC or thinks he's won the lottery, but the big reveal was worth a little giggle. Also worth a little giggle was all the stuff with Gibbs and Franks. I never realized how much these two are alike in philosophy and technuiqe. Especially when Franks answered Vance's call when he shot the gang memebers. And that bit about his pension. ;) Who can see Gibbs becoming the new Franks in a few seasons when Tony has become 'The silver haired Fox?' The ending with Tomas and Gibbs was so sweet. It came off as though Tomas thought Gibbs was his father, and wanted to be like him, then when he was told the truth, there was just a quiet dissapointment. Anyone know if he was told about the real guilty party? Anyway, another sweet episode. i love how this season they are showing Gibbs as being more compassionate and considerate to the victims and witnesses, as we saw in this episode and love and war. Once again NCIS has given us a wonderful venue. I loved Tony's "unsure accusation", you just have to love Tony and you cannot blame him for thinking what he thought. I was watching the news and this is true: A gang member from L.A. had joined up and became a hero over in Iraq, just about a month ago it was the news. Life imitating art, art imitating life". I know if I was a soldier I would want someone like that watching my back. A very good story line. I love Franks, "by the book", yeah right. Franks burnt the book a long time ago because he thought it was a waste of time.. that's what I like about Franks. Being a "Former Agent" give him great latititude, and even great longitude.. This episode also shows us that Gibbs is human, "he did his best, and required assistant when injured", which proves he needs help like the rest of us. Not all missions go as planned. I do feel sorry that the Rose was not able to contact Gibbs to receive help herself, no matter what Gibbs' life was like at the time. I can only imagine how hard it must have been for her coming to a new country and having a young son" But, NCIS never gets old, the writers, the actors taking those words and acting them out, they will always be #1 with me.

This is the kind of episode that satisfies the mature mind. We have had a few this season, and I hope they keep getting better. Suffice to say Franks' interventions are always point blank. You have a guarantee, with him, that the episode will stun. This was one of them. I love the compatibility between Mike and Gibbs, with Fornell it's good, but with Mike, Gibbs is the Special Agent I never get enough of. Love the interaction between them all the time. Want to see this same action but including Ziva. hint, hint, writers.

When Mike first showed up I thought that maybe the boy was his. He does like the ladies. Then they tried to make it sound like it was Gibbs, I kept saying no, no, I don't belive it. As for Tony and the message thing at first I thought maybe McGhee had left off the information on purpose. A kind of one up man for the "date" thing from the last show. Then it showed Tim working so hard to find the info for Tony I knew better. Ah well maybe he will get him going about something in a latter show. The we all have secrets phrase of Vance's has got me wanting to know what is up with him. Also who was it he called to get Gibb's file as it was a black opps mission that clearance should be over his head. (According to a retired friend of mine). Any way on a scale of 1-10 I give this episode an 9 because of the twist in the last 15min. of the show. Just My opinion Do you find this valuable? |
