"Good morning all. It is Sunday morning here, Dec 21st. The first day of winter by the calendar. Normally I would be in worship services at this time, but since I am still alternately sneezing and barking like a pack of hounds, I stayed home today. I actually sound worse than I feel.
My "kids" (daughter and son-in law) are coming over for lunch today. I am looking forward to that. After the meal, we will watch a little football (American style) on TV.
To me that's sort of warm & fuzzy."
Sorry you're not too well. At least you have the sense to cough then sneeze or whatever :-)
I tried to do both at times during the past week.........not fun,

Take care & feel better soon

Yow! That sounds like it could be painful!
You take care too. "Tis the season" for more that celebrations I am afraid.
Excuse me now while I go and take some more of that awful cough medicine the doctor prescribed for me.

Fortunately, we are only halfway through season 6. Go to http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YWNf6PO4-7M . for a glimpse at the next episode, which appears to center at least in part around McGee.
Have fun shopping.

Good morning !

Officially speaking it's the first day of winter. Mother nature is celebrating by dumping between 10 and 12 inches of snow on us and bringing temps down to -29C (-15F).

Strange since usually it's not very when it snows. Only after. It's already started. I have a few last minutes errands to run (no more coffee!) before going into hibernation.

When is summer? LOL

Good morning, my dear friends! It has been lovely to read through all of your messages to me from yesterday. I'd like to answer all of you individually, but I'm going to have to send all of you a "group" Thank You Very Much instead. Please forgive.

I'm still coughing up crud, but that's what I'm supposed to be doing. My nose is raw from blowing, so I look a bit like Rudolph this morning...fitting, I suppose *smile*. It has started to snow, and our temps here are still in that below zero range. I'll be spending my day watching some Football games and behaving myself.

Thanks again for all of your well-wishes. I'll be in and out around here...and for sure, I will always treasure your friendship. You're such loving and caring people, and you've made a huge difference in my day and my life.

A former classmate lives in Las Vegas. As you may have heard on the news, they had a little over 3" of snow there this past week. Of course they have no snow removal equipment because "It never snows"! She said the airport, all the schools, and many highways were closed. As I told her, it appears someone has ticked off Mother Nature, and she's pretty miffed about it.

Have someone get you some tissues with lotion in them. All the companies make them now (Puffs, Kleenex, Scotties). They are a little more expensive then the normal ones but they do really help your nose when you blow a lot. I always keep a box in my closet in case I need it.

When I have an bad "allergy" attack I can use a whole box in one day. With normal tissues my nose would look terrible the next morning. Cracked skin and all. Not with the lotion tissues.

Take care now.

Hi Scorp! I hope you are feeling at least a little better today. I know I am. I am at the stage where I sound much worse than I feel.
Hang in there. As some North Carolinian's say, you can "whup" this bug, I know it.

Sound like a little less sneezing going on around here today..... a little.... don't forget to disinfect all of your doorknobs and taps and things that you have been touching all week, and most importantly, your telephones, and keyboards! They hold gargantuan amounts of germs that could re-infect; especially those nasty telephones with all the tiny little holes in them..... shiver me timbers!!! Do you find this valuable?

Hello again everyone! Thanks one and all for the "tips". No.of Border....I'm stuck with the kleenex I have here until I go to town again on Tuesday. Then, I will get a box of those "lotion" tissues. You're idea of keeping on put away is something I will also remember to do from now on. It has been seven years since I last had a cold, so I wasn't prepared!

Abbiefan....I'm the opposite of you right now... I feel much worse than I sound! So, I'm just paying strict attention to how I feel so that things don't get totally out of hand.

Ducky...I'm a firm believer in those disinfectant wipes...I have them and I'm using them everywhere, even on the steering wheel in my Jeep. I take them with me to the store and use them on the handle of the cart. And, because I have a dishwasher, I'm thoroughly sterilizing all my dishes and flatware. Believe it or not....I got this damn cold in the waiting room of the hospital lab where I have to visit every other week, from a sick toddler running all over the room spraying snot and germs everywhere he went! No way to avoid it in that kind of situation.

Is everyone just about ready for Christmas? Please drive carefully, everyone! Our roads up here in Montana are going to be a mess for a long time to come. Thank God I have a 4X4 Jeep to get me safely wherever I need to go! Time for me to kick back with a football game or two. Love to all....

SL!, Good to hear from you again! I think the worst part of this kind of cold is the cough, but it is neccesary to clean your system. For the nose, if you have moisturizer just dab a little in the nose, that help me with the redness and rawness. Take care sweetie! Do you find this valuable?

Ugh! time for a break from housework! With the last month spent painting, I forgot how much dust and dirt can accumulate when you ignore it!! After moving around all my tropical trees and plants (and cleaning up after them), rejigging the air conditioner box, so the wind and snow isn't getting in around it, I think I finally have enough space to put up the Christmas Tree, but not sure if my back can handle another 3 or 4 hours of standing!! I need elves! I think the one elf I did have took off when I got out the vaccuum cleaner!! haha Do you find this valuable?

Good morning everyone. SL, you had better be taking good care of yourself, hon.

Abbiefan1, thanks for the airdate for the next episode of NCIS. I've been looking forward to that one. I'm pretty sure it's the one where McGee is taken hostage in the woman's prison.
