51 rules
So where is the list of rules and their definitions? I've watched since NCIS began, but have actually never seen a list. I can't remember hearing all the rules. Someone blurts one out once in a while, and they do define it when they say it. What is rule 51?

Gibbsian Philosophy-Essay
The statement 'You are how you act' is in terms of both the Gibbsian Philosophy and the Philosophy of the Stoics. Gibbs conducts himself in a way that he thinks is right and pushes himself to the limit to become it. What is it? His personal perfect stoic. He strives to be perfect and if one looks to fanfiction.net "Paris Nights" Jenny says,“Give me a goddamn chance, Jethro! Stop holding me back because you think I won’t pull it off perfectly! I know I’m not perfect! You’re the one who thinks you’re infallible, if you can’t do it no one can!”. Although not actually in the show it bring up an excellent point in Gibbs' personality. He is the ideal Stoic. He does what he believes is right. He says what he thinks is needed. So yes the Gibbsian and Stoics Philosophy's are quite similar.

NCIS University Coursework: Is Gibbs more antihero than hero?
Of the four choices of "heroes" (Western Gunslinger; MASH Military Maverick; James Bond Spook or Bourne Antihero, I think LJ Gibbs is most like the sherrif of a western town where the rule of law exists but somewhat precariously. He does what needs to be done in his world. The difference is that Gibbs' world is not the microcosm of society that a gunslinger enters in a western, but encompasses the wider world.
