As the dust settles after NCIS's dramatic return,
we find out if Tony and Ziva can rekindle the flame

Tony may have risked his life to rescue Ziva from a secret terrorist camp in Africa, but there was no happily ever after for this NCIS pair. In fact, the hurdles the couple now face seem higher than ever. We ask their portrayers, Cote de Pablo and Michael Weatherly, for their take on where the "Tiva" relationship is heading. Cote de Pablo says: "I think Ziva is completely confused. The big issue of coming back and staying with the team is murky because of the idea of working with Tony- she doesn't know if she can trust him. She's the sort of person who needs to know she can put her life in someone else's hands, and he doesn't seem to fit that for her anymore. That doesn't mean there's no chance for them. You can always entertain the idea that these people could try again. The have been years of friendship prior to this incident, and I think sometimes when people make mistakes, they can be impulsive and judge someone on one particular thing. Ziva isn't overreacting- Tony did kill someone who was a big part of her life- but, at the time, she couldn't see clearly. I've never shied away from taking this character from really dark places. It was the only way I could justify what would happen in the future with her, to show what she went through. Bad things happened to Ziva in Africa when she was captured, things that we probably won't tap into this season. Things are different for her with everyone. When she returns, her loyalty will be questioned- but, in this season, it will become very clear that she sees NCIS as her family and that her loyalty really is with this family, as opposed to her blood family in Israel. I really think there's still so much to explore regarding the relationship between Ziva and Tony. I do believe that the Tiva relationship will keep on growing. There's a reason why she comes back and there's a reason that she stays. It's a journey with much more to come." Michael Weatherly says: "After all they've been through, Tony and Ziva are very emotionally cautious around each other and will continue to circle each other warily. They have to get past this trust issue which is: did Tony kill Ziva's boyfriend because he was jealous or because he actually was a threat? He was a threat, but whether or not Tony was actually jealous, that's up to the viwers to decide!! Tony has enjoyed a very simple world view his whole life and I think that this event with Ziva- and the fact that she didn't die- makes it much more complicated. If she'd dies, he may have continued along a certain path, but now that she's back, it's not as simple as, 'Hey I like you and you like me; let's go to a movie and see where it leads'- it's an impossibility for them to be together. But then, how much do they ruin each other for true happiness with someone else? They're so star-crossed that they might actually wreck each other's game for other people. I think Tony is going to do some very stupid things this year when it comes toZiva. She's going to protect herself much better than he will, so season seven may be more about Tony attempting to articulate whether it's love, the impossibilty of love, or friendship. I think it's going to be horrible for viewers and Tony alike, and will lead to untold amounts of misery in the end. Also. McGee (Sean Murray) is becoming a really solid field agent, and this is part of the issue. Everyone is moving forward and Tony feels a little stuck. Tony looks around and thinks, 'What exactly is next for me?'. That may lead him to reach out to Ziva." SPOILERS!!!!! It's not all about Tiva- Cote de Pablo lets slip that there's also some action in store for nerdy NCIS agent McGee!! "There may be a sex scene!" Cote spills. "We're all really excited about this new love interest for McGee." The actress also revealed that the notoriously private life of Gibbs (Mark Harmon) will be exposed in episode six, when we finally get a peek inside his house- and find out what happened to his latest handmade boat! "I have a feeling there may be an undercover episode coming up, which we're always excited about because we get to step outside of our boxes and do something fun," she adds. "Plus, I think an angry father may come back, so a lot of things are going on this season."
