NCIS UNIVERSITYThis is a featured page

A note from Hollis Mann: As Dean of Students at NCIS University, I would like to welcome all wiki members, jocularly known as NKissers, to their freshman year. All NKissers are required to take freshman core subjects in our Department of Law and Criminology. As befits a serious academic enterprise, a series of extremely short papers is expected to appear in this section over time.

It is hoped that new departments of Sociology, Occupational Psychology, War Studies, Forensic Science, NCIS Advanced Linguistics and Comparative Languages plus a Centre for Business and Cover-ups Administration will be opened up in the future. Alumni of this wiki are expected to become the professors and teaching staff: their international reputation for being the top TV fan wiki-ists precedes them and we are working hard to recruit them to our Faculty staff.

We hope you enjoy your studies. Please feel free to use the plethora of resources available elsewhere on this wiki, whilst we work on the new curriculum and teaching materials.

NEWS FROM AROUND THE CAMPUS
Dr DiNardo has been appointed head of our Film Studies Department and has given a first lecture on "Gibbs: Hero or Antihero?" Click on the Film Study Lecture 1 to read more on the debate as to whether Gibbs is the hero you have when you aren't having a hero.

Professor Shane Brennan, distinguished visiting fellow in applied Creative Writing, is expected to have heavy influence on the future directions of the curriculum. Emeritus Professor Donald P Bellisario, although no longer directly doing research into the work of the main Gibbs team at NCIS Headquarters, remains an honoured and valued contributor to the overall body of knowledge on the life and times of L Jethro Gibbs. Dr Floyd Chas Johnson was awarded an Honorary Doctorate at our recent commemoration day. Specialist lecturers in NCIS Television Arts will contribute to this page, usually under outlandish and, frankly, obscure 'usernames'. However, their dedication to the analysis of Team Gibbs is beyond compare and we believe all students will benefit from their erudition.

Although Special Agent L Jethro Gibbs has been invited to take up the current vacancy as Head of Department, we have not heard from him directly. His assistant, Cynthia the invisible secretary, suggested that we direct our inquiries to Dr Donald Mallard and I am pleased to announce that we have secured Dr Mallard's services as an oral historian of the NCIS Gibbs phenomenon. It is believed that the Ghost of Jenny Shepherd may accept the Head of Department role in the near future: students and academic staff will be kept fully informed as negotiations with the Ghost develop.

I am delighted to announce that, in a joint venture with the Royal College of Music and the Royal College of Art, we expect to run extracurricular seminars on the art and function of the musical parody in NCIS Appreciation and the significance of NCIS Iconography in the development of social interactions on the NCIS Wiki. I am sure you will all join with me in thanking the contributors to the NCIS wiki for their input and research over recent years.

Our writer in residence, Tim McGee may be better known to you as Thom E Gemcity. We are delighted to have secured Tim and his award-winning, top-selling writing skills to our creative writing programme.

Our musician in residence, Tony DiNozzo, is famous as a street-singing artiste. He has indicated that he would like to do duets with the chantrusse, Ziva David, whose shows went with a bang in Morocco. Tobias Fornell will give occasional classes on the harmonica. Efforts to secure LJ Gibbs to lecture on the famous "Five Songs" (the names of which remain a mystery) have been unsuccessful for this year and we hope to entice him to join us in season 7.

Our photographer in residence is Abby Sciuto. Her series entitled "Car Crash Victims' Livers" will be on display for the next two weeks in the foyer of the chemistry department. Miss Sciuto has indicated that her next series will focus on "The Religious Art of the Bowling Nuns juxtaposed with DNA crystallography". I am sure you all are breathless with excitement at this coup.

If you have any pastoral care issues, please do not hesitate to contact the moderators of alumni services. A directory of your fellow students is provided on the home page of the wiki, which also serves as your student union. The international office wishes all foreign and overseas Wiki students to note that various translations of elements of the studies will be made available through the kind efforts of a volunteer corps of linguists.

ACADEMIC NOTICES
Notice to all first year students intending to enrol in INTRODUCTION TO GIBBSIAN PHILOSOPHY
Dr Todd reminds all intending students that the required text for this course is "Gibbs' Rules", NCIS Wiki edition. Students are asked to note that the complete set, including unofficial rules, is required and should be memorised by the third lecture of the series.
