By far, N.C.I.S. is my favcorite show on TV and has been since the first episode. I REALLY would like the writers to stop refering to the D.C. Police as , "Metro". The Metropolitan Police of Washington D.C. has never been refered to as the "Metro" Police by any Department or Agency that deals with the D.C. Police on a rregular basis. With the establishment of the Metro Transit System in the late 1970's , the Transit Police are called the Metro Police. When refering to the Metropolitan Police Department teh surrounding departments and Federal Agencies use the term, "D.C.", "D.C.Police" or "Metropolitan Police".

This comes from a retired 3rd generation member of the D.C. Police Department and one who's initial footbeat when I started on the Department included the Washington Navy Yard, the home of the N.C.I.S.. Later in my career I was the liasion officer for my Department at the time and all Federal Law Enforcement Agencies operating in teh Washington D.C. area, including N.C.I.S. THEY DID NOT AND DO NOT REFER TO THE D.C. POLICE "METRO".
