Fast National ratings for Tuesday, December 15, 2009.
With the opposition offering original programming like "The Sing Off" and "Gordon Ramsay: Cookalong Live" as competition, CBS' "NCIS," "NCIS: Los Angeles" and "The Good Wife" all won their hours in dominating fashion on Tuesday night.
Among adults 18-49, CBS won the night with a 3.6 rating, far ahead of the 2.3 rating for NBC and FOX's 2.0 rating. ABC's 1.6 rating was fourth in the key demographic, leaving The CW in fifth with a 0.6 rating.
Overall, CBS averaged an estimated 17.33 million viewers to accompany a 10.8 rating/18 share. No other network was even slightly close. NBC took second with a 3.9/6 and averaged 6.38 million viewers. FOX's 3.2/5 and the 2.8/5 for ABC followed. The CW trailed with a 1.0 rating.
In the 8 p.m. hour, CBS' "NCIS" did a 12.6/20, standing as the night's most watched show with 20.55 million viewers and its top show in the key demo with a 4.3 rating. NBC was second with a 3.9/6 for "The Sing Off," edging the 3.8/6 for ABC's "A Charlie Brown Christmas" and FOX's "So You Think You Can Dance." The CW was fifth with Night Two of the "Vampire Diaries" marathon.
"NCIS: Los Angeles" continued CBS' momentum at 9 p.m. with a 10.8/17 and a 3.6 demo rating. NBC's "The Sing Off" was second with a 4.4/7 and also showed improvement in the demo. FOX got little traction for its Gordon Ramsay cooking special, which did only a 2.5/4. ABC's "Scrubs" (2.7/4) and "Better Off Ted" (2.1/3) lagged. The CW stayed fifth, though it should be noted that more people watched Tuesday's "Vampire Diaries" repeat than watched the new "Melrose Place" last week.
CBS finished the night in first with a 9.1/16 for "The Good Wife," up from recent performances. NBC's "The Jay Leno Show" was second with a 3.4/6. ABC's repeat of "The Forgotten" lagged in fifth.

We all agree that NCIS is fantastic. I hope others are liking NCIS Los Angeles as much as I am. And I actually watched the Good Wife Tuesday and it is a fairly decent and entertaining show. The other networks can't even compete. The only thing stopping a CBS year round power night is American Idol. It appears NCIS is staying steady in viewership and LA is growing. This season is amazing so far and I don't see any reason for the remaining to episodes to be crap. Lets hope America will pull through and stop watching American Idol, there are better reality shows out there anyways.
