SEADOG
4th April 2010
In this season 1 episode, a navy Lt Cmdr is found dead on a Virginia beach, his motor boat run ashore further up the coast, along with the corpses of two drug runners. Was he dealing drugs, or was he innocently caught in the cross fire? It's up to the team to find the truth.
This episode is the second appearance of FBI Special Agent Fornell. At this point, Gibbs and Fornell are still obviously enemies.
DEA Agent Fuller was a great character. He antagonized Tony for the word go. I would have liked to have seen that character return.
One thing I could have lived without was Michael Weatherley's appalling Aussie accent. *shudders*
Whilst not a great episode, "Seadog" does have some good scenes. Ducky browbeating the local cop who searched the body without wearing gloves.
Gibbs and Abby signing made it's first appearance. Along with Gibbs explanation that Abby's parents are deaf. He ignores Tony's question about where he learned to sign.
The best scene, however, would have to be the only appearance of Director Morrow in this episode. He is in MTAC blackmailing the director of the FBI into letting NCIS into their secret terrorist database.
Written by John C Kelley and Donald P Bellasario, "Seadog" has some great lines.
Kate: It looks like a herd of elephants ran through here.
Gibbs: No. Just one fat local LEO.
Gerald: You shoved a French policeman off a cliff?
Ducky: There was a lake below.
Gibbs: Yeah. Sixty feet below!
Tony: Do we look like sexists?
Kate: Ask me who's buried in Grant's Tomb. It's a harder question.
Gibbs: Why do I feel like a High School principal?
(Tony attempts to sign)
Gibbs: You should wash your hands with soap for saying that.
Gibbs: The secret of a good bluff, Agent Fuller, is not to bluff.
Gibbs: You seriously need to rethink your definition of the word 'friend'.
Fornell: Be careful Agent Todd, you're running out of job option.
Tony: I feel like I just kissed my sister.
Abby: I didn't know you had a sister.
Tony: I don't. I was fantasizing.
Abby: I need music to do that.

SHOW DIRECTOR - DENNIS SMITH
31st March 2010
Dennis Smith has been with NCIS since season 1. He has, so far, directed 37 episodes of our favorite show. I detail them below, with comments where I felt appropriate.
- High Seas. The episode that introduced the signature of NCIS. The very first Gibbs-slap.
- Marine Down.
- The Truth is Out There. NCIS channels X-Files.
- Dead Man Talking.
- The Good Wives Club.
- Heart Break. Possible spontaneous combustion, or something more sinister?
- Forced Entry.
- An Eye for An Eye.
- Red Cell. Gibbs gets into a fight!
- SWAK. Has the scene that still has female fans sighing and drooling 5 seasons later. I refer, of course, to the Shower Scene.
- Kill Ari Part 1.
- The Voyeur's Web.
- Boxed In.
- Head Case. Raiding an automotive chop shop leads the team to a chop shop of a different kind.
- Iced.
- Bloodbath. Abby's got a stalker....actually, Abby has a couple of stalkers!
- Hiatus Part 1.
- Hiatus Part 2.
- Escaped.
- Sandblast. Two words. Hollis Mann. Grrrrrrr.
- Smoked. Brilliant Gibbs and Fornell episode.
- Driven. Sexual Harassment Seminar - possibly the best scene ever in NCIS.
- Friends and Lovers. Memorable for Gibbs nearly getting skewered by Michelle Lee's knife throwing.
- Cover Story.
- Angel of Death. By popular agreement, the worst season finale yet.
- The Ex File. Gibbs Ex-Wife, Ex-Girlfriend, Current Girlfriend. Ouch!
- Leap of Faith. "We're very special agents."
- About Face. An episode where we finally get a good look at Jimmy Palmer.
- Capitol Offense.
- Nine Lives. Fantastic Gibbs & Fornell episode.
- Dagger. Completion of the Mole in NCIS story arc. Death of Michelle Lee.
- Deliverance.
- Hide and Seek.
- Aliyah. Season 6 finale. Ziva leaves the team.
- Truth or Consequences. Season 7 premiere. The team rescues Ziva.
- Ignition. Jetpacks, autopsies on squirrels and the introduction of the Lawyer Who Bears My Name.
- Jack Knife.
