WHY YOU LIKE MCGEE

26th December 2009

I got a good response to my blog on my I like McGee, so now it's time to take a look at why you like McGee.

Det.Beckett pointed out that of all of them McGee is the most optimistic and kind. He was patient with Abby after the death of Jenny, and was the first to welcome Ziva to the team.

Probie007 describes McGee as loyal and protective. Remember "Twisted Sister"? He is not only loyal and protective of his biological family, but also to his NCIS family. He handled the interrogation by Fornell in "Internal Affairs" very well, giving nothing away at all.

It is that faithfulness that appeals to drduckymallard. McGee has never stabbed a colleague in the back. Figuratively or literally.

Once again, thank you to everyone who responded to my original blog.

I WONDER, I WONDER...

25th December

I wonder what Santa would have brought our intrepid characters for Christmas. Would it have been merely a large lump of coal each or do you think they've behaved themselves enough to obtain presents?
I'd like to think they'd each earnt themselves at least one Christmas present each, and these are what to mind:

  • Gibbs: Some wood to make a new boat
  • Tony: A DVD collection of some classic film series, which he hasn't already got
  • McGee: Inspiration and a notebook for a new novel :-)
  • Ziva: A book on popular US/UK idioms - so she doesn't jumble them up quite so often
  • Ducky: A collection of bowties and a perhaps a bottle of Drambuie
  • Abby: Some new tatts
  • Palmer: A course in psychology similar to the one Ducky did
  • Vance: Wood to whittle instead of chewing
What do you think they should or shouldn't have been given for Christmas? This is just a bit of harmless fun to go with the festive spirit, whether you're feeling cheerful or not hopefully this will help brighten up.

Y con esto y un bizcocho se acabó lo que se dió.

MERRY CHRISTMAS

24th December 2009

No real blog entry from me today. It is already December 25th on my side of the world and I am up to my armpits in gifts, and Christmas cards, fielding telephone calls and emails and trying to get food organized.

I just wanted to wish all my regular readers a very Merry Christmas. May the jolly old bloke in the red suit fill your stockings with goodies. May the day be all you have wished and dreamed it would be. A perfect Christmas.

Much love to you all and normal blogging service will be resumed tomorrow.

ABBY - CONFIDENT WOMAN OR NEEDY CHILD REVISITED

23rd December 2009

I am now on my summer holidays, so I'm making the most of this time to look back at earlier blogs and revisit them. This would not be possible without the great response I get from you. Today I am going to take a look at the Abby - confident woman or needy child proposal.

I was surprised that most of you agreed with my assessment of Abby as a needy child, constantly seeking approval. drduckymallard commented that "As someone ins the field of Psychology with an emphasis in Child Development, I want to say that Abby had a lack of fatherly love..."

MrsPriz pointed out that Abby primarily does the needy child routine with Gibbs. This would tend to indicate that Abby views Gibbs as a father substitute.

Probie007 disagrees, voicing the thoughts of the confident woman side. "I think Abby is a confident woman with her eccentricities. But then again this is a show and they have tried to portray Abby as an intelligent and eccentric forensic scientist - all brilliant scientists are supposed to be eccentric."

Which ever point of view you agree with, Abby is certainly a popular character.

Once again, my thanks to everyone who responded to my original blog.

I was wondering what the team might have got Christmas. What do you think? This is a bit of harmless silly nonsense to go with the festive spirit, and hopefully brighten the day for those feeling a little down
