TRENT KORT AND TONY DINOZZO - FRIENDS IN THE MAKING?
4th November 2009
Could Trent Kort and Tony DiNozzo ever be friends? Since the beginning their relationship has been adversarial.
Tony believes, rightly or wrongly, that Trent Kort tried to kill him. Or rather, kill Jeanne Benoit by blowing up Tony's car. The fact that Tony should have been driving the car was immaterial. Personally, I don't believe this was the case. Can you imagine the furor if a CIA agent deliberately killed another US Federal agent? Trent Kort would rapidly have become a liability to the CIA, and he is smart enough to know that.
So if Tony and Trent can get past this little roadblock, is friendship possible?
I think it is. Possibly even to the close friend/best enemy level that Gibbs and Fornell have. Close friends, unless they clash over a case, then all bets are off.
The only thing I think that could prevent a close friendship between DiNozzo and Kort is the gulf between their principles. Tony is not a natural liar or cheat. He went through a lot of misery in season 4 when he had to lie to Gibbs and the rest of the team. Tony is naturally honest. Kort is a natural born weasel. The truth is something to be handled lightly by him when the situation calls for it. The agonies Tony went through would simply not be understood by Kort, and would possibly even be despised by him. Given a cherry tree, an axe and an irate father, Trent Kort would be blaming the cherry tree for falling on the axe.
Friends in the making or enemies for life...what do you think?

WHY I LIKE MCGEE
3rd November 2009
Today I turn my attention to the character of Timothy McGee and the reasons why I like him.
- Innocent. McGee is very much the innocent abroad. Especially in the early seasons. Of late he isn't quite as innocent. Probably due to prolonged exposure to Tony DiNozzo.
- Intelligent. By far the smartest of the field agents. His intelligence is recognized by Gibbs and utilized by him.
- Secret Identity. Who would have suspected Timothy McGee of having a secret identity as best selling novelist Thom E. Gemcity? Not as far fetched as it initially sounds, as former head of MI5, Stella Rimmington, is a best selling novelist.
- Unpredictable. At first meeting no-one would have suspected that this quiet, rather sweet probationary agent would go and get a tatt on his butt to impress Abby. Certainly not Tony, as he was left speechless at the revelation.
- Devoted. Several years after his introduction, Tim is still carrying a torch for Abby. This hasn't stopped him having girlfriends, but he does seem to be a psycho-magnet. From poor little rich girls who get off on being arrested, to slightly obsessive prison guards, to completely flaky polygraph operators. The series nuttiest women line up to adore McGee.
Do you like McGee? I'd love to hear your reasons.

PERSONAL LOW POINTS OF SEASON 3 - TAKE 2
2nd November 2009
On a break here, so my blogs at the moment are mostly look backs at previous blogs. Wait until Christmas when I really clear the backlog. *grins* I thought I'd take a look at what other fans thought were the low points of season 3.
- The fantasy sequences in Kill Ari Parts 1 & 2 with people fantasizing about Kate. Most people found this irritating. One or two found the obviously sexual aspects of both Tony and McGee's little fantasies nauseating. Even without the obvious overtones of necrophilia, the scenes were distasteful at best and disturbing at worst.
- The Paris flashbacks. These annoyed the heck out of a lot of viewers.
- The cruelty of Ziva in "Boxed In" in inviting everyone to dinner except Tony. Also what disturbed fans was the fact that none of the other characters seemed to care that Tony was left out. The sequence jarred badly.
- Gibbs going off in the hospital in Hiatus disturbed a lot of fans. Seeing stoic and stalwart Gibbs break down was too much for many fans to cope with.
Many thanks to everyone who gave feedback on the original blog. Keep the feedback coming on the blogs. Sorgina and I both appreciate it.

LEAST FAVORITE EPISODES OF SEASON 6 REVISITED
1st November 2009
I think it's time to take another look at those episodes of season 6 that didn't strike a chord with the fans.
- Last Man Standing. Several fans found the ending disappointing, not having the whole team reunited at the end of it.
- Murder 2.0. A few people felt this episode was a bit weak, and also complained that the storyline for
- Hide and Seek was also very weak.
- Silent Night. Probably the episode that most fans did not like. The overwhelming reason given was Abby's childish and irritating behavior.
- South by Southwest. This was the episode of season 6 that polarized viewers. You either loved the helicopter scene or you loathed it.
Once again, my thanks to everyone who gave feedback and joined in the discussion thread.
