SEASON 6 DVD RELEASE
22nd August 2009
The waiting is almost over. Season 6 is released on DVD on Monday. I have been waiting with increasing impatience since amazon.com put up the pre-order details.
I am also annoyed with amazon.com. With season 5 my DVDs were dispatched prior to the release date. In fact I got them about 2 days after release. Coming from the USA to Australia that was great. But not this time. No early dispatch by amazon.com. Other online DVD retailers are dispatching early. A friend in the UK already HAS her season 6 DVD set. It is so not fair!
My order on amazon.com tells me receipt date for my DVDs should be 2nd September! How nice. Mark's birthday and my present to myself should arrive.
At least it is better than waiting for the season to be released on DVD in Australia. Season 5 was only released here in June of this year.
Be warned, once I get my DVDs two things will happen. I will disappear for long periods of time to watch them, and you will get inundated with season 6 related blogs.

The Least Liked Baddy (to date)
22nd August
Mulling over what to write today, I hit on this, the "least liked baddy" so far. I had a difficult time deciding on this, and in the end I managed to reduce it to 3, essentially because I couldn't decide between them and decided on a tie. Most of the baddies to date on the series have had either some endearing quality to them like, Ari or René Benoit, or they left me indifferent, i.e. they were baddies and just that, end of story.
Now the 3 I liked the least were: Jeffrey White in Chained, he was really creepy and in repulsive kind of way, playing on Tony's emotions, acting as if he was fragile yet wasn't. He reminded of the character played by Kathy Bates in Misery, or the character of Norman Bates in Psycho. The second one is Chip, with his carefully planned vengeance, which went awry in the end, but was very astute, particularly when you look back through the episodes prior to Abby tying up him with dcut tape in Frame Up, where all the clues were subtly placed, and yet we missed them. Then last but not least CIA Agent Trent Kort, he so sleazy, looks more like a backstreet mugger or one of the infamous Kray Twins, not to mention that permanent sneer when dealing with Gibbs or Tony.
Who was your least liked baddy? I'm sure you all have one.

Agur y buen finde

SEASON 4 - PERSONAL HIGH POINTS
20th August 2009
I know this blog is going to make those of you who know me laugh. You already know how much I loathe season 4, and what a struggle it will be for me to find any personal high points. But, as I have done it for seasons 5 and 6 and intend doing it for 1, 2 & 3, I can't very well leave season 4 out in the cold. As much as I would like to.
Season 4 really only has three personal high points for me.
- The episode "Driven". It's hard to go past the plot line of a homicidal robot car for a start. The real crowning glory of "Driven" is the sexual harassment seminar scene. That scene is an NCIS classic. Who will ever forgot Ziva licking Tony's face, or the complete bewilderment of the woman taking the seminar when told by Jimmy Palmer that he touches dead, naked bodies. I cry with laughter every time I watch that scene.
- The episode "Smoked". One of my all time favorite Gibbs and Fornell episodes. The scene in the interrogation room when Gibbs gets the call from Abby is drama at it's best. Also a favorite is the scene in autopsy with Gibbs, Ducky, Fornell and Jenny. Fornell is so completely bewildered by Ducky's method of explanation. The scene in Jenny's office when Fornell hands over the warrant to take the body. Her snide comment of "Who did you have to sleep with to get this?" was Jenny at her best.
- The introduction of Trent Kort. If season 4 gave us one really good thing it was the recurring character of CIA weasel Trent Kort. A classic villain that you love to hate, Trent Kort rapidly became a fan favorite and has made appearances in seasons 4, 5 and 6. I am definitely hoping for more appearances in season 7.
Do you agree or disagree with my choices? Have your own opinion on season 4 high points? Please share your comments in the attached thread or by PM to me.
