WELCOME TO THE NCIS MODERATORS' BLOG
21st July 2009
Earlier this week, myself and fellow moderator Sorgina were approached by Wetpaint to do an experimental blog on this site. This entry is to introduce myself. I'll let Sorgina introduce herself below. You'll probably end up wading through masses of words, both of us can be a little verbose on occasion. *grins*
We hope in this blog to present news about the show, the actors, and when information gets in short supply, the occasional opinion piece. Be warned. I can be highly opinionated. And it goes with out saying that the first person to address me as "the Perez Hilton of NCIS" gets Gibbs-smacked.
I am one of the "highly visible" moderators. Many of you will have seen me posting all around the site. Being based in Australia I am the one who is online at what are for many of you weird hours. I have been a fan of NCIS since season 1. The idea of a television show with my two all time favorite actors (Mark Harmon and David McCallum) in it was too good an opportunity to miss. I was totally hooked from the line: "NCIS? Is that anything like CSI?" "Only if you're dyslexic." I've been hooked ever since. As well as moderating this site, I run the Mark Harmon Fan Wiki, and also write a series of NCIS fan fiction called NCIS Mavericks. Anything else you may need to know is on my profile page.
If you have any questions, or there is anything you would like to see in this blog, please contact me or Sorgina and we'll do our best.

NCIS MODERATORS' BLOG KICK-OFF
21st July 2009
As fellow moderator MargyW has already pointed out we were approached by Wetpaint to set up a blog here on this site. The original idea was for just one of us to do this, however, I felt it would be more productive to have both of us doing it given the size of the site, plus the fact there's a lot of what's generally known as "chemistry" between us, i.e. we easily pick up where one leaves off.
The general idea is to provide uptodate information or "intel" as they are want to call it on the series, and if not, opinion pieces, which means a kind of battle of who can get in the last word, and in case anyone's wondering I'm always right even when I'm wrong :-). So you'll have "fun" reading us I hope.
I'm on the opposite side of the ocean to MargyW since I reside in Europe, however, given my profession as a freelance translator it's not uncommon to see me here at any time during the 24 hour period, so between us we cover the times the site is open, i.e. 24/7 (24 hours a day 7 days a week for those unfamiliar with the abbreviation).
Some of my entries will be in Spanish, my second language, in benefit of members from the Spanish State and Central/South America for whom English is their second language.
I got hooked on the series towards the end of Season 2 when zapping through the TV channels and came across it one day, and given the presence of Messrs. Harmon and McCallum, well that was a guarantee of series quality. Never watched CSI, well maybe 5 or 10 minutes but can't stand the Spanish dubbing and gave it up as a bad job, and stuck loyally to NCIS ever since.
In addition to moderating this site, I also moderate the satellite sites: Mark Harmon Fan Wiki, Michael Weatherly Fan Wiki, Cote de Pablo Fan Wiki, Pauley Perrette Fan Wiki, Sean Murray Fan Wiki and Muse Watson Fan Wiki; although I tend to spend most of my time here or on the Michael Weatherly Fan Wiki.
My profile is sparse regarding information, since there's nothing really to tell, but ask politely and I shall answer. I'd just like to reiterate what MargyW said above, if there's anything you'd like to know or would like to see on this blog, just let one of us know, and we'll get back to you asap. The frequency of this blog will depend largely on information available, or inspiration to write about NCIS in general.
Well, that's enough waffling for starters.

DAVID DAYAN FISHER - NEW BOOK AND A CHAT
22ndy July 2009
David Dayan Fisher is well known to NCIS fans as CIA agent Trent Kort. Less well known is that David has written a book which has just been released and is available through amazon.com. The book entitled "The Gift. You ask & You Get" is a little guidebook for life's journey that each one of us could benefit from. The following is an extract from the Facebook group page for "The Gift":
"Giving is a gift in life that will continue to bring even greater gifts. The reason this planet is in it's negative state financially and health wise is because of the continuous greed and taking. To give a smile. To inspire. To donate time or money to charity. To make a funny face at a kid, or to just be there when people are in need. Giving is what this world needs more of. The Gift. You ask & You get is a book that can be read in an hour. That tells it straight. It shows us how to stay young, fit, strong and healthy. To reduce stress dramatically, and create more peace and genuine happiness while allowing you to achieve all your goals. A ONE HOUR READ! A simple hand book to inspire us to live great. To wake up and cherish our life.
This book is a book that will continue to give. Each buyer buys into a continuous collective giving back. The money from the book sales will go towards a giving charity. After certain goals are reached in sales, money will be donated to a charity of one readers choice. And they too will receive a gift for doing so. This will continue with each goal of sales. Every buyer who send in their receipt, name and address remains in the charity pool. Imagine buying a book and six months later receiving a large donation for you to give half to a charity and half for yourself. Everyone is part of this collective giving."On Saturday 25th July (this coming Saturday) David will be on the CBS/NCIS Forum for a one hour chat to discuss his book...and even say a word or two about Trent Kort. It is timed for 5pm Pacific/8pm Eastern time.
If you would like to purchase a copy of "The Gift" check out the page on amazon.com.
Many thanks to David for allowing us the opportunity to blog about his book on here.
