MY SUI GENERIS BLOG STYLE
18th January
Six months / half a year scribbling blogs - scribbling is very much what I do. I finished a 30 hour translation stint 3 hours back hence my reason for scrounging a bit of my co-blogger's topic today. I remember jumped into this 2 feet first, without really being conscious of what I'd let myself in for, simply remembered thinking if MargyW and I have similar writing styles we're done for. Fortunately, that is not the case, as no doubt you've all realised.
Unlike MargyW I have a devil of a time if asked to write on a specific topic - and it has happened occasionally over this half year, fortunately I was able to go off at a tangent, since precision and staying on topic is what my work's all about, whereas the blog allows me to 'explayarme' somewhat and let my Bohemian side out to play, not that I'm any less opinionated then my colleague here, however, there is no little black book or similar, since I prefer to let the mood dictate. Although I'm more inclined to soapbox or sermonise, plus the fact I can do my blog in 2 different languages, despite the fact I seem to do the majority in English, Spanish does peek out now and then, and on a day like today 'cuando estoy hecha una piltrafa' you get a kind of mixed text.
Hopefully, in the not too distint future I'll be able to produce one in Basque, which reminds me it's a long time since I mouthed off about LaSexta the Spanish TV channel airing NCIS. They've recently joined forces with Antena3 because of DDT, which could be good or bad - but as yet there's no sign, nay not even a hint of when we're going to get S7 on Spanish TV, que es una faena tremenda y digo yo que ya nos podíamos tener algún atisbo sobre cuando va a aterrizar allí.

WRITING A NCIS BLOG
18th January 2010
I'm in an introspective mood today. It has been almost six months since TPTB at Wetpaint asked Sorgina and myself if we would like to undertake writing a blog for this site. Both of us jumped at the chance, as we are both have opinions and no hesitation in expressing them. *grins* It was a bumpy ride at first. Neither of us quite sure what we were doing, but we settled in to a routine pretty quickly.
I was worried, and I am sure Sorgina was too, that we would end up repeating ourselves or echoing each other. This hasn't happened. Sorgina has carved a niche for herself writing blogs on the show in general, possible future trends, news about NCIS, and items pertaining to this site. I've gone in another direction and dived into reasonably close looks at the characters, the relationships, the individual episodes and the people behind the show (actors, writers, directors to follow) and their influence on the show.
I have been surprised and delighted at your response to our blogs. I am not one to shy away from a controversial topic, and I admit to being gratified by the amount of open and frank discussion on these topics, such as Tony having an emotional breakdown. It is a tribute to everyone that we can have these discussions without them degenerating into flame wars as occurs on other sites. You are all to be congratulated.
I have been asked numerous times how I come up with my blog topics. In answer to that, I have a little black notebook that I jot ideas into. Every day I open the book and select a topic. That's why the topics are scattered. I don't want to do a procession of the same idea "Why I Like Ziva, Why I Like Gibbs, Why I didn't Like Jenny" one after the other. I find that boring, and I guess others would to. Everyday something different, is my blogger's motto.
So, if you have a topic you would like to see me cover, please send me a PM or raise it in the thread for this blog. It will go into my Little Black Blog Book for future reference.
Thank you all for reading our blogs and giving us feedback. It is very much appreciated. I'm looking forward to the next six months.

17th January 2010
This is the first time I had rewatched this season 4 episode in some time, and I had forgotten just how good an episode it really is. Written by Shane Brennan, "Faking It" is pure NCIS. Convoluted plot, great lines and loads of fun through out.
To refresh your memories, a man is stopped for traffic offenses, but when the police spot a gun under his seat they arrest him. As he is being arrested, a car screams out of control crashing into the police car. A dead man is at the wheel, and "NCIS" is written in his own blood on the passenger seat.
"Faking It" brings Mike Franks back to Washington, DC when it becomes apparent that this case is tied to an old case of his. Every Mike Franks episode is a joy, but this one more than most, as an increasingly frustrated Tony tries to keep Mike safe as his protection detail. In any Tony DiNozzo vs Mike Franks situation, you can bet that Tony is not going to win... and he doesn't.
One of the best scenes has to be in autopsy as Ducky explains what happened to the bullet. Mike Franks is totally bewildered and the others aren't any better. Followed by Mike giving Tony the slip for the first time, but not the last.
The scene in the car park where McGee and Ziva troll through vomit looking for the bullet is hilarious.
But it is the final scenes with Mike shooting the bad guy, following through to his handing Gibbs his beer and just walking off up the street that remain in the memory.
As befits such a great episode, "Faking It" has some great lines.
Gibbs: Fake name. Fake plates. Real gun. Real dead man.
Tony: He looked down and to the left. Sure sign of a liar.
Gibbs: That's very good DiNozzo.
Tony: Thanks boss.
Gibbs: Ziva teach you that?
Ducky: I haven't seen anything like it in twenty five years of slicing and dicing.
McGee: That's pretty good, boss. How did you figure it out?
Gibbs: Spending too much time around you.
Gibbs: Always something to learn, Mike.
Mike: Hard lessons.
Gibbs: Some harder than others.
Tony: You're in safe hands now, Mike.
Mike: I've seen your hands DiNozzo, they don't impress me.
Mike: Where did you learn to be such a pain in the ass?
Gibbs: Working with you.
McGee: I've got puke.
Tony: Jenny?
Gibbs: Jenny. Just how cozy did you two get while I was away?

16th January 2010
Seeing as season 2 was my favorite season until season 6 came along, I don't have many episodes in this season that I do not really like. Nevertheless, there are a few.
- See No Evil. I just didn't like this episode. I didn't like the plot and I felt the captain was one dimensional. I found myself unconcerned about him or the fate of his family. Which is unusual for NCIS. The episodes draw me in an hold me. This one did not.
- Chained. One word. Boring. Apart from the volkswagon gag and Kate being referred to as a ******, this would have to be one of NCIS' most boring episodes ever.
- Witness. McGee hadn't really developed enough as a character for me to take a real interest in McGee running a case. It seemed to me at the time as though it was just an excuse to give DBP's stepson more screen time.
Those are really the only episodes of season 2 that I did not like. I would like to hear what episode you don't like.
