Brief Bio on acting Career:
Joe Spano is probably best known for his Emmy-nominated detective role on "Hill Street Blues". He is the son of a doctor, and a graduate of the University of California-Berkeley. He intended to be a pre-med major but with his growing interest of acting he did not pursue it . In San Francisco worked with the improv group The Wing. He helped found the Berkeley Repertory Theatre, appearing in its very first first production of "Woyzek." He stayed with the company for 10 years and appeared in many of its plays including "Hamlet" and "Cat on a Hot Tin Roof." He's had recurring roles in "Murder One" and "NYPD Blue" as detectives. His film credits include "Apollo 13" and "Primal Fear".He and his wife Joan, have two adopted daughters.
