Cote de Pablo's Bio: After performing in many theatrical productions at her university, including "The Fantasticks," "A Little Night Music","When I grow Up", "The House of Bernardo Alba," "The World Goes Round", and "Indiscretions", Cote de Pablo began her television career as co-host of the show "Control." Since then she has appeared on stage in "The Mambo Kings" as Delores Fuentes in 2005, and in television series including "The Education of Max Bickford," "The Street" and "All My Children." In 2001, Cote appeared on the New York City Public Theater stage in the Shakespeare play, "Measure for Measure", then moved onto roles on the small screen such as All My Children. Cote had a small role on the long-running soap alongside Rudolf Martin who would later play her half-brother Ari Haswari in NCIS. Cote is currently starring in the hit CBS navy crime series, NCIS, as Mossad Officer Ziva David.


  • It is an incredible show. I am playing a wonderful character. I couldn't be more thrilled. It is a huge challenge for me as an actress. I am so happy to be working with these incredible actors, who are just incredible people also.
  • I'm not much of a party animal anyway. I lay low. I like to be grounded by nature, go hiking... go to an isolated island that's not glamorous and touristy at all.


  • Cote was 10 years old when she moved to the U.S.
  • While at Carnegie Mellon, Cote appeared in several theater productions, including "Indiscretions", "The Fantasticks", "The House of Bernarda Alba", "And The World Goes 'Round", "A Little Night Music" and "Cloud Techtonics".
  • Coté caught her earring on a pillowcase when she was a child. As a result of the accident she has been left with a slit in her left earlobe.
  • Her first television role was hosting the 1994 show "Control", alongside Entertainment Tonight host Carlos Ponce.
  • Coté is a common nickname for María José in Hispanic countries.
