In a college Sociology Class we were taught about the US Government's commitment to move us to the Metric System. Congress passed the Metric Conversion Act of 1975 "to coordinate and plan the increasing use of the metric system in the United States" Americans resisted this conversion and during the Reagan Administration there was a movement to reduce federal spending and the commitment to the Metric System died a slow death. The only traces that I see are on Soda Bottles and Cans. I still don't know how much liquid is in a Liter. I don't really care, I know how many 2 Liter bottles I need to buy a week. When I travel I just round off the meters to miles by subtracting 30% off the meters to determine how many miles I have to drive to reach Florence from Milan. It's not at all accurate but works fine for me. As far as getting gas, I just pay whatever the meter says! Otherwise I have never let the Metric System bother me. Oh yeah, I forgot, nutritional food labels use the metric system but I never look at them anyway. I don't want to know how many grams of fat are in a serving of peanut butter. Most of all, I don't want to know how many servings there are in a container. I assume if I can hold it in my hand, its a serving.

I just checked for History television for NCIS - It's been canceled. Or At least for now. No episodes for at least 1 month. It's not even listed as somewhere they play NCIS anymore ='( I was sooo happy cause today was a monday (meaning NCIS is on) but it wasn't on now or anytime for the next 7 days so i checked it's site, no airings listed ='( I hope it's not canceled on History TV, but sadly, I think it is. I'm hoping it's just till season 7 starts (i can hope) If anyone knows otherwise, let me know!
