That seems unlikely to me.

Its CBS/Paramount that make the DVD's in Australia. Considering that Ten would have no input to the DVD, it would make no sense as to why they wouldn't keep the original network version.

Ten would only cut it to get slight more ad time or if a scene exceeds the M rating from 8.30 to 9pm.

But unfortunately, I doubt we'll ever know who is right on this matter.

I'm so glad raluca08 mentioned jeopardy. that is my favorite. It showcases a lot of characters in great ways:
Jenny- we actually get to see her in the field
I love the scene when Gibbs calls her and she's so calm and she's just like "sorry to here that jethro i have quite the serious problem myself" in that casual almost amused tone and then she's just like "i'm not entirely sure that's true". ya think? she's so calm in that scene, it's so amusing.
Ziva-we get to see her freaked out, we get to see that she really has changed while at NCIS "if this had been a year ago i would have snapped his little neck, but it's not and i didn't". and i love the "what part of desk work don't you understand" line.
mcgee-the scene where he comforts Ziva is really sweet. he's so nice and the scene really showed that the team cares for ziva and she is part of the team and it's just another reminder of how great mcgee is.
tony-i love the scene at the end with the car
ducky (and palmer)-the whole crime scene in the building, shortest communte, palmer didn't get them lost thing.
abby-crime scene virginity and the disney land refrence thing.
and of course Gibbs-i love jibbs and he's totally worried that his love will die. jibbs forever!
also love bloodbath&frameup. as many have pointed out bloodbath is so great cuz all of the girls (&ducky cuz he is just cool like that) think she can take care of herself and give her items so she can protect herself, and the guys think she's a damsel in distress and can't protect herself. and the guys fail to protect her, but the she saves herself using the presents from the girls. frame-up is very entertaining alll around, the "now can i work alone" endings funny, and I love the whole scene about "a little fire burns a great deal of corn (think thats from frame up)
