I disagree. We don't need to talk and talk about these issues, we know they are there. I am sure that most people in this world know at least one person who has been abused - whether a husband, wife or child and that the same thing applies with Alzheimer's.

as I said, my sister never wanted to talk about it. Why? Because a lot of people had the same mind set that others on this thread have mentioned - why didn't she just take the kids and leave? Having people repeatedly say that to her and make it sound so easy when it wasn't didn't help her any and that is one of the reasons why she did not like to talk about it. She also had a bad opinion of herself and despite our family telling her there was nothing wrong with her and therapist's d oing the same, she still feels like some of it was her fault and if she had done things differently and she deserved what she got because she stayed. And, as a strong woman, it bothers her to admit that this happened to her.

I have seen many talk about how Ziva kept things to herself regarding Somalia because she is a strong woman who does not want to show her weaknesses. It is the same thing with abused women.

You can take a horse to water but you can't make him drink. No amount of talking is going to make some people feel any better - or feel better about themselves. and I don't know that Ziva will open up.
