• Ziva is reading the Declaration of Independence:
  "This my friend is the Declaration of Independence. My citizenship test is coming up and I wish to pass with swimming colors." ~ Ziva
  "Flying colors." ~ McGee
  "Any colors will do McGee." ~ Ziva
  
• Clap on, clap off (Tony)
  
• Suck it up, McGee (Tony)
• "Play nice kiddies, there's plenty of room in the sandbox." ~ Gibbs to Tony and McCadden
• Tony was waving a small white flag while Ziva was telling him she was studying for her citizenship test.
  
• Palmer was testing out new cologne for his big date. Gibbs walks in and says autopsy smells like a French whorehouse. Palmer laughs and says it's him. "What are you trying to do Palmer, raise the dead?" Gibbs asks. Ducky sends him up with samples for Abby and tells him to use the Hazmat shower. "Use it twice," Gibbs adds.

• After arriving in Arizona, Tony & Ziva get out of the car:
  "Oh my god. Aren't you hot?" Tony asks
  "I've been told that before," Ziva replies.
  "I was talking about the temperature," Tony replies.
• "Alright McNosy, what do ya got?" Tony asks McGee
• Ziva referring to a repository as a suppository.
  
• "Put that insidious device away Mr. Palmer. This is a crime scene, not a chat room." ~ Ducky
• "Palmer's embalmer said yeah huh? Little funeral home girl. Listen Palmer, girls who work down there in the mortuaries like to do it in the dark so what you want to do is...." Gibbs interrupts and tells Tony to focus.
• When Tony and Ziva find Hendricks. Tony says "Looks like a homemade toaster oven."
  "Guess we found Hendricks," Ziva says.
  "Well done," Tony replies.
  "Thanks," Ziva says.
  "Not you, him," Tony adds looking at a 'fried' Hendricks.
  

• Palmer has a new girlfriend.
  
• Tony seems to have an issue with Detective McCadden.
• When Gibbs was young and married, he had to leave for his Marine duty and took Shannon and Kelly, causing Joann to blame Gibbs for their death. She believed that the reason they died was because he took them away.
• Joann blames Gibbs for Shannon and Kelly's death. She feels he left them to do his job and wasn't there for them.
  
• Gibbs explains to Joann that he knows who killed his wife and daughter. He remembers back to killing the man. He intentionally fouls up the arrest so that Joann goes free.
• Gibbs shoulder seems to be healed and there is no sling.
  
  

• This is the third episode with Sean Harmon, as young Gibbs, and young Shannon appears for a second time.
• Ziva's Ring size is a 5
