• Gibbs bringing old-fashioned supplies to help the team with the case
• Abby's music player needing new batteries and dying on Abby
  
• People walking down to autopsy to get their drinks, snacks and lunch that was stored in autopsy drawer #107.
  
• Gibbs watching Tony, Ziva, and McGee insanely typing on their computers when the power comes on. Gibbs puts away his "supplies", shuts his screen off, and smiles.
• McGee and the squirrel comment
  
• Gibbs pulls a can of sardines out of his bag.
  
• Lemon-power! Abby uses lemons as a battery for her boom box.
  
• Gibbs saying "Book'em Dano-Zo!"(Dano is the name for one of the characters in an old television show, Hawaii Five-O)
• Abby makes whiskey in her lab and drinks a shot in front of Gibbs. "I'm not an alcoholic but I needed that." Abby says to Gibbs.
• Tony (to Palmer): “You don’t need a cell tower to play Bing Ball, which is about all I’m gonna get done today anyway. Who let you out of your cave?”
• Tony (to McGee and Ziva about Gibbs): “Well you don’t need electricity to use hand tools or drink a bottle of bourbon.”

• Ducky (to McGee and Tony): “I must apologize for my tardiness. Mr. Palmer has trouble navigating when the street lights aren't working.”
  
• Abby: "What does Ducky have that I don't?"
  Gibbs: "Corpses." (Ducky got a generator, Abby didn't)
  

• McGee (to Tony): "I don't do hard copies."
• McGee: "How did people survive before search engines?"
  Tony: "How did people survive before email?"
  Abby: "How did people survive before there was pattern recognizing sparse representation algorithms?"
• Tony (to Abby whose looking for batteries): "Sorry the entire city has been de-Duracelled."
• Tony: "You never see this crap on Columbo." (Whining while manually going through files to find matching finger prints.)
• Tony: "High tech case, low tech ass-kicking."
• Ziva (to Dimitri - waving his high blood pressure medication): "You should really watch your blood pressure."
• Ziva and Tim stuck together in the elevator.
• Tony: " Ladies and Gentlemen what you are about to hear is true, only the names have been changed to protect the innocent."
  
• McGee "rubbing it in" on Tony (who has to do menial work) and Gibbs being proud that McGee uses payback time.
• All the "low tech/no power" versions of the usual gimmicks (lights out in opening credits, Polaroid-Phoof...)

• Abby tries to make her own Caf-Pow but fails.
  
  
• Palmer trying to joke around with Gibbs in autopsy but failing.
  
  
• McGee continues to grow and stand up to Tony.
  

• Rocky Carroll was credited but did not appear in this episode.
• Nobody was called "Probie" in this episode.
• In one of the autopsy scenes, the corpse is visibly breathing!(They even have actors/actresses to play dead!)
