• McGee's and Ziva outrageous theories on how Gibbs "emerged" rather than born and bred as the rest of us mere humans!
  
  
• Tony's face when Gibbs tells him to stay at headquarters.
  
  
• The reactions of both Ziva and McGee when Gibbs introduces his father to them.
  
  
• Ziva and McGee pushing each other into the store to call Abby and Tony and inform them of Gibbs' father.
  
  
• Tony, at long last, finds that someone that can answer all the questions about Gibbs he has yearned for. He was told "two questions', by Gibbs, which was soon reduced to one. by Tony himself.

• We now know where Gibbs gets his rules to live by. His wife, Shannon. When they met, she told him she lived by a code of conduct, her rules. She was also the first to call him Gibbs, although his father calls him Leroy. Shannon is also where he gets "workin' on it."
  
  
• Gibbs was mad when his Dad brought a girlfriend to his wife and daughter's funeral.. but Jackson explained that he loved Gibbs' mother, but he had to live his life after Gibbs' mother died. The grudge wore away by the end of the episode.
  
  
• We can never go back in time, but when you do go back to Stillwater, it's nice to have the power over the local cop who wasn't your best friend back then. It was not revenge..Gibbs wanted, but it sure made him feel good to show up 30 years later and you know what they say about payback....!!! Even though it's a cold meal, it sure warms your insides.
  
  
• This is the first time ever that we hear Gibbs saying he is tired.
  
  
• Gibbs may be an alpha male, but his dad is leader of the pack: at breakfast, they both want to drink coffee in silence and read the paper. They want to read the same bit of the paper, but it is dad who determines which bit Gibbs' gets. He tries to sneak a peek at the bit he wants, but says nothing when dad folds the paper and the sports page gets hidden. Their actions are otherwise identical and synchronous.
  
  
• Watching the emotions run through Gibbs when he first sees his old car refinished and realizing what his dad did.
  
  
• When Jackson tells McGee and Ziva that his partner LJ full name was Leroy Jethro, and the two of them realized that Gibbs was named after his dad's best friend.

• Gibbs' Dad is played by Ralph Waite who played John Walton, the dad on The Waltons TV show.
  
  
• Young LJ Gibbs is played by Sean Harmon, Mark Harmon's son.
  
  
• The custom car was a Challenger R/T, with a Hemi... a real dream car.
  
  
• Abby cheats at "Punch Buggy"..
  
  
• Gibbs calls his dad by his Christian name
  
  
• The song on Gibbs' car radio, whilst he is looking down the years, is Michael Buble's "Lost".
  
  
• The song (From the Marriage of Figaro) that Ducky is humming on arrival at the crime scene is about soldiers going off to die: clearly an 'in joke' for the cognoscenti that he is humming it at the crime scene for a dead marine.

• The Black and white photo of Jack in the cockpit of a P-51 mustang confirms that Jack flew a Mustang in WWII.
