Bloodbath

Synopsis:
While working on just a regular murder case with the rest of the NCIS team, Abby is almost killed by evidence from the case and soon it becomes clear that the murder was staged, and that someone wants Abby dead. The team discovers some enemies from Abby's past, and they must find out who the person is, before he kills Abby.

New Character Development / Insights:
  • Abby doesn't want to get anyone hurt, that's why she keeps her private problems secret. She says that although she has had problems with one guy, she just wanted him restrained, not hurt; that's why she didn't go to Gibbs about him.
  • Gibbs cares for Abby, much like a father daughter relationship.
  • Abby insults McGee when Gibbs tells her to go home with him. Sarcastically: "Great! Like I haven't been traumatized enough today."(honeymoon is over?!)
  • Abby uses distraction/humor to keep from showing fear to people (tells Tony he has a nice butt, when he's dragging her out of the way)
  • When Abby is in McGee's bathroom opening his drawers, looking for a weapon to defend herself against Mikel, there's a woman's hair removal kit. (Left over from a prior relationship, or does he use it himself? Hmmm.)
Funny Moments:
  • Absolutely everyone says that Abby doesn't have enemies like Tony does and Tony reaction.
  • Tony's comments in the motel room after finding the paper that says "redrum."
  • When Tony says to Abby, "I say that you just go with the heels" and growls, then asks if it is inappropriate.
  • McGee asking the couple if they had requested this specific room when they called the lodge and the man's wife answer.
  • When Gibbs asks Abby why he hasn't heard of her stalker before, she replies that she wanted him restrained not beaten with a bat. Gibbs smiles knowing its true.
  • Abby asks Gibbs to retrieve her red studded dog collar from Mikel Mawher's place of business.
  • DiNozzo straightening his hair and tie after seeing himself on Mike Mawher's picture.
  • Abby showing Gibbs what the people in the office gave her for self-defense; Cynthia, pepper spray; Ziva, stun gun; the Director, brass knuckles, and Ducky, a whistle.
  • Gibbs telling Abby that he would move her whole lab into the elevator, if that is what she wants.
  • Director Shepard lusts after Gibbs's coffee.
  • Palmer's reaction when he opens the elevator doors and sees Abby and Gibbs in corner.
  • Abby's safe place. The second time we see her there, Bert the farting hippopotamus has joined her.
  • Abby, drunk.
  • Abby tells her kidnapper not to ''look up her skirt'' as she is zapping him with a stun gun. Gibbs just stand there and laughs. All he can manage to say is 'Okay' in that humorous Gibbs-like manner.
  • Abby's face when Tim threaten to tie her down on the bed if she answers the door again.
  • All of McGee and Abby at his house.
Trivia:
  • This episode has a commentary on it, on the US version of season 3 DVDs (but not on the UK version). Perrette says that, when Abby fights off the real baddie at the end, using the equipment from the women, the line about "and don't you look up my skirt" was an ad lib that the man playing the baddie suggested they keep.
  • "Redrum" (& Tony's comments made after the find the paper it's written on) reference the ever famous repetitive line in the 1980 Stephen King movie (& book) "The Shining" staring Jack Nicholson, Shelley Duvall and Scatman Crothers.
  • Perrette said that this was the episode that Sean Murray realized that his MIT shirt, when viewed in the mirror, spelled TIM.
  • In the same commentary, Michael Weatherly said that the body pieces in the hotel room was proscuitto.
  • When Gibbs, Tony and Ziva pay Mikel Mawher a visit at Krime Kleaners Inc, the song playing is "American Witch" by Rob Zombie.
  • The song playing in McGee's apartment is "Over My Head (Cable Car)" by The Fray.
  • This episode was named TV Guide's moment of the week for the week of April 23rd to April 30th.
  • Eddie Jemison ("Terry Spooner") played"Livingston Dell" in Ocean's 11, 12 and 13.
He has also appeared in"CSI:Miami", "CSI:Las Vegas" and other shows.

Am I the only one wondering what happend to the red-head from the first few episodes? The one who used to pick up Gibbs in the convertible?
This episode was just re-aired here in Denmark and I saw it for god knows what time.. And it suddently came to me.. Couldn't it be Ginger? It is clear that they have a history and she matches quite well...

Will there be a second part, where Mikel Mawher, is STILL stalking Abby? You know that those with psychological stalking never stop until they get professional help!
