Head Case

Synopsis:
While discovering an illegal automotive chop shop, the NCIS team stumbles upon a severed head of a Marine, hidden in one of the cars from the shop. When they find possible suspects, the team will have to find the rest of the body and find the murderer.

New Character Development / Insights:
  • Mrs. Mallard's favorite television program is WWE Smackdown.
  • Both Ziva and Gibbs have slept with someone as an interrogation technique.
  • Ziva is getting more protective of Tony & warning him of Gibbs' presence.
  • Tony shows increasing sensitivity to Ziva's past the more he learns about her.
  • Ziva swore never to be captured alive after a colleague's severed head was shipped to Mossad when his cover was blown.
Funny Moments:
  • Tony's reading his email at his desk. Ziva reads an email in which a woman calls Tony "Honeybuns." As she says it aloud, Gibbs walks up and says "Only Naomi and I call him that."
  • Palmer's facial expression when Ducky says televised wrestling is not real.
  • Palmer offers Abby a "white meat or dark" tissue sample.
  • The who scene in the squad room after McGee prints the car registration info.
  • McGee's reaction to Gibbs' saying that Tony was right.
  • DiNozzo's description of the attorney.
  • "Sleepless In Seattle" scared the bejesus out of DiNozzo.
  • Tony calling McGee a "pickle head" after McGee uses the word, "obfuscating" (basically, to make so confused no one can understand!)
  • When Captain Wayne's wife visited NCIS and "spoke" with Jenny.
Trivia:
  • For more information on the explanation of the guillotine (as explained by Ducky) you can read it on Wikipedia.
  • The music in the opening scene in the garage is "Twisted Transistor" by Korn
  • Voodoo is not the same thing as Witchcraft. There are several types of Voodoo, but like Witchcraft, they are religions. The alter most visually looks to be that of one who practices Santeria.
  • "Fair winds and following seas": The full sentence is "Fair winds and following seas and long may your big jib draw!" Both versions are a Naval Blessing and a farewell. It's the ideal conditions for which sailors live for. It is also said at Navy funerals & retirements as well as for deceased sailors at their funeral. It can also be used at a beginning such as at a commissioning ceremony of a ship. It's two statements put together. "Fair wind" means safe journey & good luck. "Following seas" refers to the water behind the boat as you move forward, that the waves are in the same direction in which you are traveling.
