Red Cell

A marine is found murdered on the school campus, and the NCIS discovers a suspect immediately. However, they are back to zero when they find the suspect murdered. Tim & Abby discover a trace in the e-mails, called "Red Cell," which leads them to believe that the marine must have been involved in a serious game of death.

New Character Development / Insights:
  • Tony knows about McGee's book and that one of the main characters is L. J. Tibbs.
  • McGee boasts a little too much about going to MIT.
  • Abby tries to bolster Tim's confidence by reminding him he went to MIT and telling him that Gibbs does like him.
  • Kate and Tony enjoy banding together and picking on McGee.
  • Gibbs calls Tony his senior field agent.
  • McGee getting mad after finding out that Frankel was the one outsmarting him and cuffs him roughly
Funny Moments:
  • Abby shooting her doll in the head with the paint ball gun...
  • Girl in Tim's apartment, not found during Tony and Kate's nosing around, coming out after all 3 leave.
  • Gibbs and Tony breaking in on a sorority pyjama party.
  • Abby and Tony shouting the rules of Fight Club.
  • The look on Mr. Palmer's face when he thinks Gibbs is going to demonstrate the neck snapping technique on him.
  • The look (and laugh) exchanged by Ducky and Mr. Palmer when Gibbs uses Tony to demonstrate the neck snapping technique.
  • Gibbs' exasperated look of having enough hearing about college from Tony and Kate at the end.
  • When Tony and Kate are looking in the Quad for the hacker, they notice a suspicious looking man on a laptop. As they approach him to see what he is doing, you can see he is on the "Scarlet Secret" website, from the episode 2.09 Forced Entry.
  • In this episode, the actress who portrays Sarah McGee (the woman in Tim's apartment at the opening of the episode) is Sean Murray's half-sister in real life. Torian Avery Bellisario is the daughter of Don Bellisario (the creator of NCIS) Sean Murray is the step-son of Don Bellisario.
  • When McGee is tracking the device that the hacker is using, he said that it passed through the server of the "Baltimore City Public Library". The public library for the City of Baltimore is never called by that name. The official name is "The Enoch Pratt Free Library". Enoch Pratt was a very generous patron of the library. The library is also known simply as "The Pratt Library".
  • McGee refers to the neck snapping demonstration in the episode 4.06 Witch Hunt saying Tony told him about it, hoping Gibbs will not need to demonstrate the same move on him. Gibbs, of course, feels McGee needs to learn by doing.
