Bikini Wax

Synopsis:
A petty officer who had just returned to her job is found dead backstage at a bikini contest. The team suspects that the victim may have had a stalker.

New Character Development / Insights:
  • Ducky mentions that after graduating from medical school he did consider becoming a teacher and training the youth of the world.
  • Tony is being given more responsibility by Gibbs. Also, Gibbs begins telling Tony to take assignments and to "take Kate with him."
  • Abby is being more "short" with McGee.
  • Tony graduated from Ohio State in 1989 and was a member of Alpha Chi Delta Society.
  • Mr. Palmer does enjoy Ducky's stories.
  • McGee gets seasick.
  • Abby used to compete in bikini contests.
  • Tony keeps all his back issues of GSM.
  • Kate was a junior in college in 1994.
Funny Moments:
  • Tony gets excited over the bikini contest only to be very disappointed when Gibbs tells hims it's over.
  • Mr. Palmer not getting that Ducky just insulted him by saying he does his work quickly and taking it for a compliment.
  • Ducky rambling over Mr. Palmer while explaining that Ducky didn't think he'd like giving long, rambling speeches.
  • Tony lecturing Kate about not going easy on Redding's cellmate, only to do it himself when he finds out the cellmate is a frat brother.
  • Kate gets annoyed with Tony and tells him he has a man crush on his old frat brother.
  • McGee goes through a car wash chasing a suspect.
  • Kate takes Tony to a professional photo shoot- only to find out they were guys!
  • Abby and Tony playing game show hosts with the identification of Kevin Holt's DNA.
  • Abby outing Tony for taking the video of the bikini contest home overnight.
  • Gibbs sympathizing with Tony on poor memory and short-lived relationships.
  • Tony telling Kate she's "with him" just like Gibbs.
  • At the end of the episode, we see Tony on his spring break re-edition and he finds out that Kate won a wet t-shirt competition years ago!
  • Tony was laughing like a maniac when he saw the photo of Kate winning the wet T-shirt contest.
  • Tim surprising Gibbs by cutting him off mid sentence when telling him to get the keys.
Trivia:
  • In this episode we discover that when Tony was in college during spring break, he and his 'fraternity' brothers went to a place called Panama City to get drunk and laid. Kate of course, tut-tuts also. However, at the end of the episode Tony and his mates go back to Panama City to relive old times, and Tony discovers a photo of Kate on the wall in a Miss Wet-T-shirt competition, which made his day. In future episodes he taunts poor Kate with this knowledge.
  • When Tony and Kate speak to the freelance photographer, Jason Kaplan, in his office, the office is the same set used for Harmon Rabb's apartment on "JAG," another of Bellisario's show. More specifically, Rabb's bedroom and bathroom area.
  • McGee says he couldn't buy Tony a burger because he didn't have enough money, yet in "Witness" he said he carried a few hundred dollar bills because he "always liked to be prepared". Of course, he could have been lying to Tony.
  • The image of Tony reclining in his desk chair with his sunglasses on while speaking on the phone was part of the opening credits shots in several seasons.
  • The image of McGee all covered in soap suds with his thumb pointing up was part of the opening credit shots in several seasons.
  • Tony mentions that one of Gibb's rules is "No eating in the truck," but then corrects himself, after McGee has thrown his burger away, by saying it is "No eating in Autopsy."
  • If Tony left NCIS, he could be a game show host.
  • Women are Tony's weakness.
